Feb. 17, 22: Routine, Errands, Oculus, Crashing, TV, and Games

Got to bed pretty late last night, like around ten thirty, but was up round about the same time as usual and ended up more than two hours shorter than the short I already was.

I really planned to conquer Keychain today, but I never could summon the motivation to even turn the computer on. 😢 Despite that lack of motivation, I did accomplish a little bit for the day.

Did the usual morning routine and found some major nastiness in the crypto markets. Nearly everything down around ten percent across the board. 😱 I wouldn’t mind it so much, but I just swapped into Balance (at what appears to be a relative high 😡) and have, in less than a day, lost a good hundred bucks worth of value…not to mention that the interest went from 16% to 1.5% 🤬🤬🤬

I spent some time looking at balancer and poking around trying to find another Polygon platform that offers some better rates than the ones currently on Aave. Balancer does seem kind of interesting, but I didn’t find anything anywhere that sparked my interest or confidence. I suppose, even though it’s minuscule, I am earning on what I have deposited there…better than just sitting in a wallet, I guess, and since I don’t have anything borrowed against it it’s all gravy, don’t have to worry about liquidation.

I did go in on H-E and make some moves. Particularly, I got frustrated…I think it’s a bot, maybe, but there’s 800 ONEUP that as soon as I canceled my buried buy order and moved it to the top of the market, it came in on top of me. That happened three or four times the last couple days. 🤬

There were some more, lower sell orders that came in and (weighing against the PIZZA sitting idle in my wallet and the daily pool payouts already lost) so I took the market. Went in and added liquidity a couple times to the PIZZA:ONEUP pool, but still only a little over half of what I had decided to do.

I also went in to TipCC and realized that I had a bit of WAXP in there. It seems like a lot of projects are building interoperability over there and I already have a few NFTs that I got from contests and giveaways and stuff, so since it actually cost me nothing (got the tokens airdropped), figured it wasn’t much risk to try a withdrawal and see about staking rewards. Got what I had staked, was impressed, and went in and got some more off the H-E market, withdrew, and staked it too. 👍

I’d been working somewhat on my post, but Wenche was sent home from work because of the impending winter storm we were supposed to get, so I cut it short and went into town to get my errands done before it got too bad. I did intend to go back and finish it properly, but I never did now that I think of it. 🤔😢

Had some lunch once I got back and then really hit the wall. I was trying so hard not to kill the day sleeping again, and I was very tempted, but I wasted it playing Oculus instead. To be fair, I did do the dishes, and emptied the dishwasher that I ran, and took out the garbage…so, a few chores at least; but otherwise, staring into a screen.

There was a new game available today, a story/puzzle game: UNBINARY. I got it and played through the first several puzzles. It wasn’t as bad as UltraWings, but after an hour or so I was sweating pretty bad and didn’t feel all that well, so quit out and gave up the fight against laying down.

Put some random cartoon on the TV and almost immediately crashed out. Slept pretty hard for about an hour and a half and woke up groggy and craving something sweet. It was just about time for Wenche to finish work then and she made us pasta and meat sauce for dinner and we watched some more Sex Education.

Diddled around in the Pizza server from time to time through the day, but otherwise, that was about it. Did some errands and chores, played video games and chatted, then passed out, ate, and passed out again…well, after doing some laps (and a bit of cheating in all honesty) to finish my steps for the day.

[I have fired up the computer already this morning. We’ll see if it turns out to be more than just good intentions.]

Well, it’s not looking like the dShitty shittiness is going to end any time soon. I’m starting to doubt, once again, the necessity of repeating the same complaint every day. I tried to see if it’s actually something that I can fix or do anything about, but even digging through that utter mess of menus, I couldn’t find anything. Was thinking it was maybe the unemployment penalty or something, but I’m not buying any more cards, so it doesn’t matter.

My Ego has started to increase a little over on Rising Star, so I switched over to lessons for now. Seems like I’m thinking about this one less frequently lately, only going in once or twice a day if I remember.

I finished out my Splinterlands quest from yesterday fairly early in the day today. Wasn’t doing too badly at that point and I left it until my quest reset for today. Honestly, I’d thought I’d be in bed already by that time, but I was still up and decided to give it another go. Then, it sucked, hard, and I rage quit. 🤬

I couldn’t get a single win, let alone make any progress on my Fire splinter quest. Not only that, lost all the way back down to Gold III, fucking rediculous. I hadn’t made any progress anyway and I didn’t like the quest resetting so late in the evening, so I went in and switched it up this morning and got Life splinter instead.

The Venari Bonesmith is an alright card, but otherwise not much to speak of in the way of rewards:

I still haven’t sold the vouchers I have left on the market and I did go in and buy quite a bit of HIVE worth of PIZZA and 1UP, so getting a little short on liquid again. Thinking I should probably just go for it…in fact, since the new card is so stupidly expensive, I’m considering moving some more out. For now I left them alone, though.

Staked my SPS drop for the day, but even though I’ve more or less recovered the DEC from paying guild dues, it’s seriously fallen off! In the beginning I was getting more than two hundred a day; not getting anywhere close to that now that system points are more widely distributed and the interest rate from holding has declined precipitously. Was trying my best to keep it stable, but not succeeding at this point; not earning any from wins this evening doesn’t help either.
