Feb. 27, 22: Routine, Grocery Shopping, TV, and Games

[Got teaching all day today and been getting prepared for that. Started reasonably early on this post this morning, but we’ll see how far I can get. Need to make lunch, get a shower, and leave a bit early to get gas ⛽️, so I might actually be cutting it tight already.]

Here we go again with another relatively uneventful day and the accompanying challenge of making it sound interesting enough to validate the use of a thousand words to describe it. Se la vie, I suppose.

For one thing, I do have to admit that I’ve been smoking like a maniac lately. I’m not particularly stressed out or anything, so I don’t know what the deal is, but it’s to the point that I notice it myself. 😱 Got to find something else to do while I muck about on the phone than sitting down in my basement hidey hole puffing away.

Yet another rough night last night. 😢 Fell asleep around the usual time, but was up a couple of times and got out of bed well before four thirty. 😢 Ultimately, I only lost another half hour, but now I look back I had the whole weekend and did zero work on the website. 🤬 Keep getting tangled up in trying to decide what to work on next.

Cryptos continue to hurt my feelings. Just don’t want to look. We saw a nice bounce back yesterday, but immediately gave back another five percent. With this sort of volitility, I should be doing some swing trading here, but for now just been watching my portfolio go down the drain.

Otherwise, just did the usual morning stuff, as usual. Had a pretty lengthy conversation in Pizza about what I was jabbering on about yesterday with black holes and all that. I didn’t bring it up again, though, I was explicitly asked about it.

We were planning to head out, as we normally do on Sunday, so I worked on getting my post done. Ended up sitting there waiting until after ten past ten for the damn brofund bot so I could post and not get skipped and then we finally went in to do the grocery shopping.

We did get some more toilet paper (had a coupon) and a big bag of cat food, but once again plowed through two hundred bucks like it was nothing! The inflation is crazy, especially in the price of meats! 😡 Pretty soon we’re going to be looking at a thousand dollars a month just for food. Might have to start cutting back on stuff.

It didn’t take us too long, though, and even though we were late getting started, we still got home around noon. Got everything put away, gave the animals their lunch, and got some lunch myself.

Outside of a small chore here and there, that was the end of the productivity for the day. Wenche did the laundry, but otherwise we plopped in front of the tube for the rest of the afternoon and evening.

Wenche made us some steak stew-ish stuff over smashed potatoes for dinner and we started into a random show Spirited that we decided to give a try. It was a lot more drama, and less comedy, than I had hoped and I didn’t really pay that much attention playing Splinterlands and then getting ready for bed.

Spent a little time getting ready for teaching tomorrow, but left a lot for the morning (which I’m kinda’ paying for now), but I was losing the ability to focus at all.

My eyes were rolling bad and I think I fell asleep for like fifteen minutes or so, but woke up and realized I still had three thousand steps left to go for the day. I totally cheated and shook the whole way…barely even awake. Once it vibrated that I was done (however illegitimate), I immediately passed out.

Alright! Now dShitty is back to at least trying to be properly shitty. Got a Bank robbery and a couple crises on top of zero income, ‘cus that’s the way the “game” was designed. Three SIM equals three words: Lord, help me.

Remembered to go in on Rising Star several times today, actually. It does seem, now that I’m alternating, that my progress has slowed significantly and I still haven’t cracked level fifty. 😡 I also still haven’t pulled any Starbits out of the system either, but the other pools are just so juicy by comparison and I feel like I should, for some reason, keep trying to build even though it seems to be an uphill battle.

Played quite a bit of Splinterlands trying to hopefully get somewhere close to Diamond II, or better yet, across the line. Not sure why I even held out hope, the last day sucks. Could barely finish my quest, but at least I didn’t lose out of Diamond trying.

I got Fire splinter for my quest, but figured that would likely prove frustrating. Rolled the dice and got Sneak quest instead. Nothing major as far as rewards, a couple cards and a little DEC:

I’m more or less out of dry powder now on H-E and I was really itching to pull some more vouchers out; to the point that I had my finger on the trigger, but I didn’t pull it, at least not yet. I do still have ten sitting waiting and I haven’t sold them since the drop, so for now still in a holding pattern. Staked my SPS drop, as normal, and was surprised that it actually went up by .01 for the first time in a long time! Been struggling to keep it stable, let alone go up at all.
