Jan. 23, 22: Routine, Grocery Shopping, Pizza and a Movie, and Games

[Got teaching all day today, so trying to get an early start on my post, but we’ll see how far I’m able to get before I have to get ready to go.]

Holy moly! Believe it or not, I slept all the way until six this morning! 🥳 Nine to six meant that even with waking up and stuff I got a solid eight hours. 👍 It’s been quite some time since that happened!

I’m still a bit under the weather, but not feeling sick really anymore, just a little congested, but Wenche wasn’t feeling good at all now…I think she gave it to me first, but she thinks I gave it to her. 😂 Either way, she did the responsible thing and took a home Covid test that came up negative…I’d already been quarantined for five days, basically, anyway but it’s good to know.

Got on with the morning routine and cryptos were still hurting. They took a little breather, though, in their downward plummeting and due to the high fees in addition, I left my Aave investment alone [should have backed it off when I had the chance].

Went in on H-E and sold a couple more vouchers. Decided to get some more PIZZA with the funds and took a first dip into the PIZZA:HIVE pool. Hoping that will be a smart move once the provider fees start to be distributed. PIZZA staking rewards are also coming (not exactly sure what they’ll be yet, though), so not sure if I should have just staked them or what…at least I won’t be pinned in my position by transaction fees!

Otherwise, just the usual morning stuff. Messed around on Discord a bit…been spending a lot more time in the Pizza server, they’ve got a vibrant community going there. Last night they had a chess tournament and movie night the night before; seems like there’s always contests and stuff happening.

In contrast, The Man Cave had kind of become vapid “good mornings” and anything beyond that isn’t very positive…plus, I’m not into Marky worship, so I was really considering just leaving. Not really any enjoyment from the time I spend in there anymore and nothing to show for that time either; not interested in Ray’s random investment picks, so other than announcements that I could read in a post, doesn’t seem to be much reason for being in there. I think Ray’s more concerned with Cine and said (more or less) that he didn’t care whether I came or went, so maybe it’s not the community I thought I was buying into. 🤔

After I got my post done and shared we headed into town to do the grocery shopping. Between toilet paper and decongestant and some other rando items we got, we pushed nearly $200 this time! 😱

Got stuff put away and then just killed some time watching tube…we did get a bit of (no kissing) intimate time, but neither of us were really feeling that great and it really killed my back. 😭 Totally worth it, though.

We made some homemade pizza 🍕 for dinner; look at that yummy bacon:

And while we were waiting for it to cook Wenche ran down to the RedBox and snagged us a couple movies. We got Addams Family 2 and the new Dune. We watched Addams Family first, and it was alright, what you’d expect, and then watched Dune.

Seems like I tried to watch the original one and thought it was weird and boring, so was kind of expecting this one to be weird and boring as well…can’t say for certain, but it was weird and boring enough that I didn’t make it very far in before I zonked out.

I still had like three thousand or more steps left, so it was lucky that I woke up when the movie finished. Got ready for bed properly and finished my steps (yes, I cheated again 😭) and then feel right back to sleep again.

Got a Bank robbery in my dShitty today, but phooey on you! I didn’t have any income really for the little bastards to steal. 😛 19/400 is shittiness extraordinaire.

Woah! It’s been like a week, but finally no drunks and my Ego is at zero like it should be. Not too much else going on with Rising Star today, just a couple missions pounding towards unlocking the next one.

I played a bit of Splinterlands in the afternoon again today just for “fun” without any particular goal other than hoping to make some progress. Just for a bit, though, then came back to it later on and did my quest for the day.

Not quite sure if I should be happy or scared, but with a week remaining in the season I broke up into Gold I! 💪 That’s an excellent pace and I have some hope for Diamond II, but I have a feeling there’s going to be some losing streaks coming up pretty quick.

I had Sneak quest today and that afforded me a little flexibility. Got it done up a tier in Gold I for an extra chest or two. Not too bad, got some cards for upgrading:

I moved some of my vouchers out and sold some the other day, but decided to sell a few more today. Just sort of DCA’ing out; still hung onto some for dry powder and of course still have plenty in game. Otherwise, staked my SPS for today…they’re down wicked hard, like $.11, just going to hang onto them for now.

Missed out on being assigned to a guild brawl this time, but volunteered for a gold foil Silver one. Tough, but got my battles in.
