Jan. 6, 22: Routine, Solairitas Update, Errands, PYPT, TV, and Games

[Well, crap! I’m getting a seriously late start on my post today and only just realized that I missed my ten thousand steps yesterday! 🤬🤬🤬 So close so as to be an extra slap in the face! 😢 I guess I thought I’d gotten it earlier.]

Got up a bit earlier than I would have liked this morning, about quarter to five, and another hour short. I was pretty active (well “active”) though, got quite a few things taken care of.

Did the usual morning routine and, man! the crypto markets continue to be bloody. 😱 MATIC took a similar tumble as HIVE did, down by double digits and I’ve been getting even more nervous about my DeFi position at this point, but still not willing to pay the crazy transaction fees. They have settled back from where they have been for the last several days, about half as much, but still wicked high!

I’ve still been keeping on top of my inbox ToDo list, and it definitely feels good to have it (temporarily) cleared out. I spent some more time trying to sift through the Hive developer docs, but still haven’t sat down at the computer and I really need to get going on preparing for next semester. Like I said a few days ago, I’m pretty sure I have Calculus under control, just need to do the things, it’s the algebra that I haven’t taught in a while. Thankfully I’ve already received a final exam and a calendar to work from from the lead faculty, so that helps; don’t need to start from scratch, just make appropriate alterations.

Today was #PYPT and so I was absolutely hell-bent on finally doing a Solairitas News Update. It took more time and doing than I had considered, though, especially getting all the H-E token balances cleaned up and working out all the numbers since the last update.

Got that stuff pretty much set and then did my post for the day. By the time that was posted and shared, I was starting to get really short on time and I had my usual errands to run. So, quick ran into town (didn’t take the doggy this time - was too cold to sit in the car and I didn’t want to have to drive extra slow to be cautious about him).

I got back and grabbed a sandwich for lunch and jumped into Discord in time for at least some of #PYPT. I did have to split my attention, though to try and get the solairitas post done properly. I was able to get it done and I presented just like old times! 😁☀️ Not to mention the post did quite well! 👍

I’d more or less been going full blast since I got up. Forgot to mention that I did dishes and took a shower and took care of the garbage and the mail and a bunch of stuff like that in the morning as well. So, I kinda’ wound down at that point. I watched an episode or so of Warrior Nun, which isn’t too bad, and then we had steak and tater tots for dinner after Wenche got home.

Otherwise, not a whole lot going on for the rest of the evening. We watched some more tube and I played my Splinterlands quest and we both went to bed fairly early again. Crashed out and completely missed my steps for the day. 😭

Still just been cranking lessons on Rising Star trying to get that Ego down. I suppose that’s also delaying the card pack reward, but if it means earning some more XP for each mission, hopefully it will help me grow slightly faster.

I played my Splinterlands quest in the evening and continued my march toward the next tier of Gold…tantalizingly close now and with more than a week left in the season I’m still hopeful for Diamond this time.

I got Fire splinter for my quest today but decided to switch it up and got Water instead. Thinking that made life a little easier for me. Got it done still in Gold II:

As I did yesterday, I decided to take as much of my airdrop today as was needed to buy five packs. I suppose it’s luck of the draw (and I don’t have any more potions for whatever that’s worth), but at the end end of the day I traded $20 of SPS for $7.86 worth of cards:

Not exactly the best trade ever, but I keep telling myself that they represent “earning potential” in terms of gameplay, but that requires them to be leveled sufficiently to be viable…kind of a catch 22. 😛

I took the rest of the SPS and staked it as usual and am still holding onto 90% of the vouchers I moved over to the market. I’m hearing about some interesting projects and looking for ways to invest in solairitas, so thinking I might cash in, or rather trade into some other tokens here pretty soon…1UP and CARTEL have caught my eye…
