July 17, 22: Routine, Oculus, TV, and Games

[Got teaching all day today, but just giving the Final exam. Still, I’m running short on time right now, so probably not going to be able to finish…hopefully get a chance later.]

Today was yet another unnecessarily stressful day courtesy of your favorite local downvote vigilante, and yet another day that I managed to waste and accomplish nothing. I am strongly considering leaving this chain…although it’s always been in the back of my mind, it’s been brought to the fore how centralized Hive actually is. I’ve considered (on many occasions) going much harder into Hive (that is, becoming a whale), but I haven’t and still won’t because of this (and I’m sure I’m not the only one)…ironic that they think they’re doing Hive a favor, but by existing at all and enforcing their view of Hive as nothing more than a blogging platform, they keep it suppressed and prevent further investment or innovation.

Of course, one of the, if not the first thing I do in the morning is check my blog…from that first instant of being awake it was acidyo actively digging through my stats looking for anything he could find fault with. He chose my voting CSI…so now I don’t comment enough for him and I don’t vote enough varied people…because his opinion is what matters (because he can threaten to use force)…there are two ways to rule: be loved or feared (Machiavelli). I certainly don’t love the DV vigilantes; even less that they get off on thinking they’re selflessly doing me (and the chain) some kind of service.

I don’t want to be petty or childish, but the fact remains, circle-jerking for me and not for thee (and I’m justified because my power says so) isn’t an ideal situation.

Maximum dShitty shittiness saturation continues to persist. Thinking 11 SIM per day is a real good reason to stay on this chain.

Just did the one lesson on Rising Star today. That did get my Ego back to zero, though, so it’s missions again (at least for the day).

I really wanted to get some work done on the computer today, but my stomach was in knots already and I just couldn’t bring myself to it. So, HashKings is still just sitting there. 😭

Still not even had the least desire to play Splinterlands. Been like four days now? Need to get on it or I’m going to get way behind on the season (not that the rewards really justify that anyway). I have little need of any more potions or Pelacore Conjurers. Got brawl battles that need to be taken care of, though, so going to have to play.

Staked my SPS drop for the day, but regardless of how much my balance grows, it’s value continues to decline. It’s not hardly even worth the trouble to deal with vouchers (which, so far, seem to be the only benefit of holding), so not sure. Might dump it all out and use the funds to get a solid start on a different chain. WAX, maybe?

Maybe I should dump everything out on H-E as well, go over to Blurt and just let my HIVE sit and power down my HIVE stake rewards to perpetually pay for all the transaction fees. That would be kind of funny…turning me into nothing but a milker (exactly what they think they’re battling). 🤔
