June 3, 21: Routine/Posting, Vertcoin Fail, Oculus, TV, MSP Waves, Laps, and Games

Really disappointed, to be honest. Tried to reflect on what I did today and even though I am sure I made it without taking a nap, it seems another day has vanished into the aether with nothing to show. 😢

Up at four again and another two hours plus short. Doesn’t seem to be any way out of it at this point. I’m still waking up thinking about Polygon, but haven’t made any moves.

I did mess with Vertcoin some. I got a wallet and withdrew out of tipCC just to experiment and the trx fee was super low, so since it’s advertised as “ASIC resistant” and a “one click miner” - which is literally what the damn program is called!

Fired up the computer, downloaded the miner, opened it up, and nothing but a white screen...guess it’s one click after the thousand clicks to set up? 🤷 I asked in their discord, but haven’t gotten any response yet.

I guess the big news round these parts was that the interest on HBD rose from 3% to 5%! 🤑 In all the time I’ve been on Steem/Hive, I’ve never used the savings function...now I’ve used it four times in the last two days!!! If that was the behavior they were trying to incentivize, it’s working!

Five percent for simply not converting it and letting it sit? Now we’re talking my language! Even making me want to pull everything out of Compound to move it here:

I would if it weren’t for the hard loss I would have due to the gd gas fees. 🤬 Cost me more than $60 to get in and then out (not even transfer or trade, just in and out)...for fucking $.16 interest on my several hundred dollars worth of crypto. That was a smart move. 🥴

Dog money got listed on Coinbase. Fricking forty five million in an hour!!

Otherwise, in the afternoon I paced some laps and walked down to the bank. Can’t seem to pinpoint much of anything else. Went to orlev’s Discomfort Zone on MSP, got some airdrops in tipCC, dinked around in the Man Cave...

I did jack in for a few songs on Beat Saber, but the controller tracking was being shitty enough to significantly affect my gameplay (saber glitching through targets and missing). I think it has something to do with the lighting in the room (it doesn’t like natural sunlight it seems) and when the kitchen light turns on or off by the motion sensor it seems to glitch as well.

Nagged hard at myself to get some web work done, but getting that anxiety again... I didn’t just sleep, though, so that’s something. I watched the new Bo Burnham special Inside. Was good! His first one was absolute genius; not sure what happened with the second, I thought it was terrible... but I guess he was having mental issues at the time. There was still some hard left preaching, but looking past that it was a fantastic exercise in self-reflection and worth a chuckle or two.

Had a bowl of cereal for dinner and watched some random tube with the wife after she got off work, but it wasn’t too long before I fell asleep. [man! How do I turn a nothingburger day into eight hundred words? That’s a talent.]

Well, greater than zero is better than not greater than zero...it’s a sad state of affairs when that’s the best you can say about it.

Holy crap! I got my Holybread tasks done today! 😲 I got lucky and had the possibility to fight abachon...got the arena wins I needed, but my rank is slipping (as expected).

Kinda lame when you’re only one place above a player with 1 power.

Got an ingredient or two on CryptoBrewmaster today, but still a ways to go. I did check the market today and I could get about 2 HIVE or so...sort of thinking about dumping it out for VFT, try and put that time to some use as well. 🤔

It wasn’t much fun at all, but I did play some Splinterlands.

Basically losing as much or more than I won and ended up worse in the rankings than when I started, always my favorite! 😛
