Mar. 28, 23: Routine, Teaching, Quest, TV, and Games

["Slept in" all the way until seven this morning and even though I've so far done no curation or token shifting there's now only fifty minutes until our PIMP meeting and I'm barely starting on my post. 🫤 Trying not to get too stressed about it, just plow ahead and get as much as I can done.]

Unfortunately, the sleep is getting to be a bit of an issue...though I didn't get to sleep all that late, around nine thirty, I was up around eleven thirty and then got up to go out to the couch at four. The cat's water bowl was making really loud noises, though, and I was just up. 🤬🤬🤬 I got seven hours, but dragging as it is, that does not help at all. 😢

Obviously, being awake in the middle of the night gave me plenty of time for the morning routine and I kind of took my time doing all that. Can't think of anything particularly noteworthy going on then, just all the usual stuff.

Holy hell! Not sure why the markets have been so angry lately (or why MATIC continues to punish me so harshly)...looking at some solid reds today. 😨 Thirty-seven cent HIVE doesn't look like a buying opportunity to me, just pisses me off that I went whole hog into an apparent shatcoin...don't even get me started on a fucking dollar "pegged" coin worth ninety-five cents. 🤬

[Dang...less than ten minutes left before the meeting and I've only got about eight hundred words done. 😤 Why don't I stress a little bit right now about how I don't know what to teach for Calc II tomorrow, that will help. 😛😏]

Got a decent post done and scheduled a few minutes before eight and I got everything set up for class and then jumped in the shower.

We're a little ahead in Calc I, but only about one class worth, and I decided to go forward and formally introduce the Integral. While I did actually show them some examples of u-substitution, we were mostly looking at the notation as well as the difference between an indefinite and definite integral.

Ended class right about on time, grabbed some lunch, and then headed into town to teach my afternoon class. The drive went fine and even though I was a few minutes late getting on the road I had about ten minutes or so to spare.

I'd been wracking my brain about what to cover for today's class right up until the minute it started. We spent about the first half of class working through some more examples of deriving series representations and then the second half looking at conic sections.

I did make a mistake, though, and said that a parabolic mirror was hyperbolic (need to correct next class) and it bugged me all the way home...once I got home and got changed, it was really bothering me and I tried to find how a hyperbolic lens focuses light. Took me a while, but I think I've got the difference straight between parabolic and hyperbolic mirrors and lenses. 🤓

Anyway, we're still way gar ahead in that class and I'm at a major loss for what to cover tomorrow (as I mentioned earlier). 😱

Once I was straight enough to feel somewhat confident, I still had about forty minutes or so before Wenche was done with work and I did a couple rounds of Drop Dead.

I was doing really well, much better than I have been, but I got pinned in a corner and died before I could get back to the cabin. 🤬 Coincidentally, though, it was right when Wenche was done (again) and I quit out.

I emptied out the dishwasher, did some of the dishes in the sink, and helped set the table while she made us turkey tacos for dinner. I don't quite know why, but I continued to feel embarrassed about the mistake I made in class and it kept bugging me for most of the evening. 😥

I spent some time in the evening messing around with Forest Knight...it's pretty glitchy, for real, but I'm hoping that I'll eventually have some new NFTs.(?) Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the free potion was part of a challenge and I drank it already, so I can't progress. 😡

Waited to see if the potion might reset after midnight UTC, but it didn't. Just have to wait and see...

Took care of some of the WombPlay challenges after the reset as well and sent my Wombat into the dungeon overnight.

Despite teaching all day (FitBit would have had me at like 15k steps, easy) I still had like two thousand steps left to hit my 10k goal and I paced some laps for a while to finish them out. After that, we put on some Married with Children and I was out before long.

Splinterlands:
Holy crap. 😡 My Splinterlands rental income has fallen even further, back to a dollar thirty now...I remember the days when I thought thirty grand worth of cards would be worth maybe like five dollars in rental income per day, which then was only three, and has only gone down since; what a hopeful fool I was.

Considering this is currently my only source of liquid and I'm down to only .75 HIVE at this point, I really need to swap what I have out (and really need it to be more than it is 😛).

I claimed my SPS interest for the day and while I still had ten left in my prepay balance, I figured that was only enough to cover one, possibly two, days and I decided to take basically all of it and re-up that balance. Hopefully won't have to worry about it for a few more days now (can't complain that it is paying for itself, though).

dShitty:
No crime or crises in my dShitty today. Seems like both my SIM and HIVE income stayed stable. Otherwise, just a little sad that my holding rewards are capping out.

RS:
Went in a couple times again today on Rising Star. I had some Ego and ran a lesson, but now that it's back to zero, I'm back to missions. That sounds somewhat similar to yesterday and the day before and the day before that...the Rising Star record goes round.

For as boring and stupid as Rising Star is going round and round, at least it does go somewhere! 😂🤪 With all the funds this project has sucked out of the chain (oh, but it's been given back to the players in the form of tokens...whose only value is to give to @null) this thing should be a friggin' masterpiece.

GLX:
I'm kind of at a loss as to what to say about this at the moment. I mean, there's the simple statement of fact that I staked it all up again like some kind of degen, but otherwise it's just kind of a joke to hoard something that's continuously losing value...hey, maybe GLX will go back to five cents (and maybe the Earth will spiral into the Sun 😝).

Sounds like Booker is heading out to Cali (I think) to meet up with Sunny Onnoo...I don't know who most of these people are any more (stopped watching wrestling back in the days of like Hulk Hogan) but it's still super cool that he's getting out there. Makes the whole thing a lot more real. 👍
