Mar. 8, 22: Routine, Oculus, THGaming Curation, TV, and Games

Got up at five on the dot this morning, but I guess it was pretty late before I got to sleep last night since I ended up another two full hours short. I didn’t feel too tired, and I fought my way past the afternoon wall without laying down, but between the piling on of lack of sleep and the serious stuckness of the website, my motivation and self-worth are extremely low. 😢

Same ol’ as far the morning routine goes. Did all the usual morning stuff, worked on my H-E wallets, did some curation, hit the faucets, checked Discord pings, checked the crypto markets…cryptos still flashing red, but only a couple of percent. he says wiping a single tear from his eye.

Got my post done and shared and all that and chatted for a bit with cryptoniusrex in DM. Was trying to get myself to sit down and at least try to fix the problem with the website, but the potential of failure (and what that currently means for the entire project) made the anxiety go through the roof and, even though I knew it would make me feel bad about myself (and it did), I couldn’t bring myself to even try…I mean, there is the alternative as well: I figure it out and am able, then, to use that solution for every other operation I need to create (and validate)…

Woot! I’ve been waiting and hoping and the time has finally come…drumroll…#thgaming now has curation rewards!!!! 🥳👍😁 It was announced after I posted yesterday, so I didn’t get a chance to use it yet, but definitely got it nom today’s post (and going forward). They’ve got a fire under their asses, and I believe this functionality was entirely funded through token sales (basically building up from nothing as far as I understand), but they’re working on partnerships all over and the pool is super juicy!

I was tempted to just try and lay down after I got my post done, but I fought the urge and jacked in to VR instead. I finished the puzzle I was working on in Puzzling Places and then did a fifty piece version of another one; it’s soooo small, even a hundred pieces is going to be hell, let alone four hundred!

I was kind of meh 😕 about playing Escape Legacy since I got so hardcore stuck playing yesterday and I noticed that there was a little blue dot 🔵 there on Beat Saber that indicates there was an update. 😯

Of course, I had to check it out, and sure enough, the new OST5 was there. Was a free update, which is awesome, and not only did we get some new songs, there’s new lighting effects and new types of notes, like moves you have to sustain or slice blocks slower in an arc…definitely adds a dynamic to the gameplay, and the price was right! 😁

Played through all the songs on Hard and tried a couple on expert. They’re not joking! I did clear one of the expert ones, but I wasn’t even going to try the expert+ ones yet! It’s wicked unforgiving; I was nearly done with one song and got off my a beat, only took about two seconds before it failed me out. 😢😭 Going to need to beef my skeelz.

Later on I was watching some YouTube crypto videos catching up on news and market analysis when I learned that Metamask is actually completely centralized. 😱 Well, ok, that’s not entirely true, but the API Metamask uses to interact with the Ethereum chain is, and it’s ten percent owned by JP Morgan. 😡

It seems, in trying to shut down access to wallets (to comply with US sanctions on Russia) they accidentally blocked the entire country of Venezuela:

That’s scary, but good to know…if you’re using Metamask with the default configuration, then your funds are NOT SAFU! There is, as far as I understand, a distributed API that Metamask can use as an alternative that can’t be shut down.

It’s called Pocket Network and is a service to fix precisely this issue. I set up my Metamask and it seems to be working great:

Wenche came home for a short while after work but then headed back in for a Karaoke 🎤 night. I grabbed a leftover slice of pizza from the fridge for dinner and then more less just got ready for bed after she left.

It was still pretty early and I hadn’t started my Splinterlands quest, so I distracted myself for a bit watching them play Among Us in Pizza Discord and played out my quest. Crawled in bed before she got back, but she came home before I was completely out. It wasn’t long after, though.

I guess, the only thing to do, really, is sit down at the computer and give it a shot…can’t keep torturing myself about it and then torturing myself for not even trying.

Same dShitty, different day. So far beyond rediculous at this point, it’s rizzable. Today’s three words for three SIM are: waste of life.

After days and days of lessons on Rising Star, I finally got my Ego back to zero and voila! We got temporary drunk fans. 😡 Been sick of lessons and need to make progress toward the next mission, so I just took the hit and started a mission anyway.

I’m still kinda’ just feeling out this part of my post (as well as HashKings itself). Not sure if it’s going to be worth a daily section or not when mostly all that’s happening is watching a number count down to zero for days. I suppose, as I get going and get more involved, it will hopefully become slightly more interesting.

I guess Beard has been busy (playing Among Us 😛) and I waited all day for the avatar and BUDS I won, but they haven’t come yet. Got a blunt sitting there waiting to decide whether to use it for my current avatar or whether it will be worth switching to the new one. Ah, well, patience is a virtue.

Played my Splinterlands quest in the evening as usual. Bit of back and forth, but not too bad.

I got Snipe quest for my quest today, but there was no way I was dealing with that, so I switched and got Water splinter instead; much easier for me. Got it done in Gold I, but kind of shabby rewards, although that archer is kind of nice:

Nothing interesting as far as SPS (just staked) or vouchers (didn’t do anything) today, but it does hurt a little seeing my liquid HIVE so low…want to get some more THGaming as well, so already spent the funds I don’t have! 😜
