May 30, 22: Routine, AC Still Fail, Upstairs Work, Broken Streak, TV, and Games

Got to bed wicked late last night, nearly eleven! 😱 Got up around the usual time, though, so ended up about two and half hours short. 😭😡 Didn’t crash in the afternoon, but I totally zonked out early watching tv in the evening…missed the last two hours of activity and broke my streak. 😭😭 Hopefully there will be a silver lining and FitBit won’t rip me off five days…that has been bothering me this whole last seventy day streak.

Anyways, did the usual morning routine which now includes messing with COIN and Wombat. So far I’ve sunk quite a bit of time into these p2e games and no NFTs yet. 😡 Trying to earn one so I can start trying out Dungeon Master. I suppose I could go in and buy a few, but I think it’s a cooler story if I start from zero and earn my way up…we’ll see how long I remain patient with that.

I was still upset about the A/C not working, so I went down, reset the breaker and the furnace and tried again. I let it run for about forty minutes but we got no decrease in temperature nor did the compressor ever come on as far as I could tell. 🤬 We called them, but of course they were closed. We’ll see when they can get here…was a bit angry that I was spending that much time and effort trying to troubleshoot the damn thing when it’s basically brand new (installed last spring), but I wanted to make sure it wasn’t anything that was my fault or I could fix easy enough. It seems to have power, so my best guess is either the control board or the coolant has leaked. Possibly a bad run capacitor, but I don’t think so, didn’t get any noise or motion at all from the condensing unit (no clicks or hums or buzzes that would indicate a failed component).

I was glad to find that classic.Aave was back, so I can see exactly how much money I’m losing against ETH again. 🤬 I have recovered a little, but I’m still well over one ETH vanished for my time and trouble…meanwhile I’m basically stuck over there or else I actually realize all that loss. Speaking of which, still just get JSON error on wleo…piece of shit!

Help desk told me to use a different wallet with the same address; for one, not really even sure what that’s supposed to mean, but I can’t install Metamask on the phone twice and I already messed around with other wallets and they have different addresses. I think it’s their bullshit, not my wallet that’s at fault! Likely going to have to just dump the pHBD, call it a loss and continue my “fuck you” attitude towards Leofinance.

Otherwise, it was nice to see a little life coming back into the crypto markets. BTC coming back up over $30k is a good sign, but we may very well just keep trading sideways around this level for a while. Green candles are better than red ones, though, so I’ll take it while it lasts.

Shifted around H-E tokens and added a bit to my pool positions on BeeSwap, did curation, chatted on Discord (got frustrated with a bunch of extension requests from people who procrastinated for the last month 🤬 - make me feel guilty for letting them live with the consequences of their decisions)…”Hi professor, can you please feel bad since I didn’t do what was required of me and I only need a little more time.” Definitely annoying, especially since it’s been sitting there, available to work on, for the last three weeks.

Even had one student DM me wanting to “meet up” during the week…clearly hasn’t done the homework, hasn’t been attending class (obvious from the dumb questions they asked in the Discord about the exam…had they been in class, I addressed those questions at least twice already - which is why I say they were dumb questions), and now wants me to be their private tutor on my own time?!?! That’s really not how any of this works.

Was a bit annoyed by all that, but whatever, comes with the territory. Got my post done, published, and shared for the day and then pretty dinked around messing with the phone and watching Handmaid’s Tale until early lunchtime.

After I had my sandwich, I headed upstairs to do some more destruction. Got some of the lathe down the stairs and then decided not to fight with that big garbage bin and instead just started chucking them out the window.

My goal for today was really to finish ripping up the northwest corner of the room, but after a while Wenche came up too and started to some demolition, pulling some of the bazillion nails that are left in the wall, and then I tossed the lathe over to her and she threw it out the window. We actually managed to get the corner finished and the entire north wall! It’s all ripped out except for a bit of the insulation that hasn’t fallen yet.

That was major progress, but it was seriously hot up there and we still had all that lathe to clean up and throw on the fire pit, so we quit and finished all that.

Got a shower and then Wenche made us steaks and curly fries for dinner. I was pretty much wasted at that point and I popped some painkillers. We put on Librarians but I was out before too long (and missed my steps for the day 😭).

Got a pandemic in dShitty today, but got nearly thirty SIM regardless. I guess I’ll just throw it on the pile for Solairitas to get a little income from it.

I did get another Rising Star card from a Pizza giveaway, so 118 now, but otherwise just a one mission day and now that my Ego has started rising again, I switched to lessons.

At this point HashKings has been hanging over my head for days…they’ve got DHF money pouring into their pockets now, so they best fu$&ing get to work on the mobile site. 🤬

I really was tempted to try and finish one more daily quest on Splinterlands (and not get so far behind that I start missing days), but there was no way I was going to mess with it on the last day of the season.

My SPS drop actually went up by one today, but still down around ninety. Just staked as I have been for months now. Thinking I’ve got enough vouchers above two hundred to move some more out…kinda’ considering getting harder into EOS, Wombat is pretty cool.
