Nov. 14, 22: Routine, Walking, Teaching, TV, and Games

[At least I remembered that we have our weekly Pimp meeting today early enough not to be surprised by it (and be late), but not sure if I’m going to be able to finish this post before we get started or not…keep getting distracted with teaching prep work.]

Crashed out around eight thirty last night and even with being woken up and going out to the couch and getting up early, around six or so, I did get a full eight hours on the night. 👍

Been sleeping until about seven or so lately (and getting to bed about an hour later as well), so it was like wide open time for the morning routine and I had a super early start on it.

Did all the normal stuff; little curation, checked Discord pings, email, checked the crypto markets (which are more or less trading sideways - BTC in the $16k range), played a little WombPlay, and got to work on my post.

Got done nearly an hour before posting time and I decided to schedule it to post and get a jump start on my walk for the day. Wenche had today off (working next Saturday instead), so we took the dog for a proper five kilometer walk despite the literal freezing cold.

[Ah, crap, only like halfway done and the meeting is about to start…😡]

Was definitely wintery out there today and we did get snowed on here and there (but only a couple of light flakes), but the Sun did peek through a bit and the wind wasn’t terrible, so with a little jogging it wasn’t too bad.

Was really quiet down at the lake today. The water was calm and clear, but didn’t see any fishies at all, must have moved out to deeper water.

Although I usually do have time to do a five k or so on Mondays and Wednesdays, I usually don’t take the dog those days. We were early enough today, though, that we got the full distance done in time even with all the sniffs.

Got back, got my regular sandwich for lunch and then jumped in the shower and got everything ready to head out for work. Got out the door right about on time and the drive in was smooth, so I was there a good fifteen minutes early for class.

Today we looked at the algebra of functions and introduced the new operation of composition of functions. We covered a bunch of examples and were only about half way through class when we were starting to beat a dead horse, so I moved ahead into the next section a little and we started looking at inverse functions and when they do or don’t exist.

Even with basically covering two classes worth of material in the one class, we still got out around ten minutes early. The drive home went fine as well and I was home around three thirty.

Like I said, Wenche was off today, so she was home when I got home and she made us dinner almost right away. We had some pancakes today and then we watched TV for the rest of the evening.

Still kind of hunting around for something to watch and we stumbled on old episodes of Married With Children…we both liked the show back in the day, so we binged that.

Not much else going on; played WombPlay games after the daily reset and got my daily challenges done, but otherwise just got ready for bed and fell asleep watching the tube.

[A few minutes over, but got it pretty much done on time. 😁]

Well, dShitty is piling it on again; got General Crime and riots today. 🤬 Even so, my actual income was higher than the trend has been for some time, so I guess that’s good?

The drunk fans (right after one another) finally expired and my Ego was at one percent, so I did a lesson and got it back to zero. Back to missions now and still not even close to half way to millionaire…honestly can’t say I’ve made a penny from playing this, but then again I don’t think I spent more than a couple HIVE on cards…still a loss regardless, only hope would be to sell of the startbits I’ve saved (and recycled into cards) and hope it’s enough to break even.

Nope, still haven’t dealt with HashKings. Been a really long time, but I guess I don’t care enough about it to be bothered except when I do this section of my post…at least I haven’t heard too much more machinations being announced to try and save their token.

Well, I guess it’s the end of the Splinterlands season since my income was a whopping $3.7…only barely makes up the shortfall to bring me about stable at $3 a day. Can’t say I’m super impressed with it, but I suppose it’s better than having the cards sit or playing/swearing for an hour to get a couple potions. Seems like SPS fell even more, though, since the rental fee went up over eight SPS…too rich for my blood, so I paid out of my DEC.

Claimed my interest for the day and staked it all this time (since I’d paid already). I think that’s two days of staking so far; one more and then I’ll start saving up liquid again, but with the drop in SPS value, I still haven’t swapped out the ones I already have sitting on the market. Haven’t checked my voucher balance in a while either…🤔
