Oct. 23, 21: Routine, Walking, Oculus, TV, and Games

Got to bed a little later than usual, which isn’t all that much of a surprise considering I slept until two in the afternoon yesterday. Made it until six this morning with about an hour short. I didn’t feel too bad today, but also not particularly motivated either. More or less chilled the whole day.

Not too much interesting going on during the morning routine. Checked the markets, did my curation, watched some YouTube, did dishes, and worked on my post for the day…just the same old. I did, for a second, kind of not want to do my post since it’s just the same thing as I do every day, but the feeling passed quickly.

The brofund bot hasn’t been touched as far as I’m aware, so I’m still having to time my posts to the minute every day…been several months now. 🤬 Was nearly to ten thirty again yesterday, so decided to reset and got skipped.

At least I can post around ten for the next couple days instead of sitting there waiting for the right minute…still have to wait for 10:01 today, but that’s better than the twenty plus minutes the last few days. If I was paying a dev to do dev work, I’d expect them to do some dev work.

We probably would have left earlier if there was still the #AutomaticWin goal, but we did wait a while for it to get a little warmer and then took the dog out for a walk on the nature trail.

Definitely a Fall day out today. Hat and scarf and gloves time, but the gloves did come off later.

Already getting colder than I’d really like, but not bad out considering it’s the end of October.

Really not seeing much wildlife now, but there are still a few shrooms around.

We’ve gotten even more rain…the pond is full up to the brim! Didn’t see any turtles 🐢 or fish 🐟 or frogs 🐸…guess they’ve gone to sleep.

Saw a couple slugs along the trail (snails that lost the house in the divorce settlement), but they were sleeping still, not moving at all. Hadn’t warmed up enough I don’t think.

They were pretty chirpy as we walked by…don’t think they were all that happy about us being there.

(On a side note, I wonder how those who firmly believe that gender is a social construct and/or those who adamantly deny differences between genders deal with the sexual dimorphism of animals…or the fact that we’re animals too. 🤷 Must take some serious mental gymnastics to reconcile that cognitive dissonance.)

Not a lot going on for the rest of the day really. I couldn’t help the temptation to jump in to Resident Evil for a while and made some progress there. Definitely a great game! 👍 Been going for the full immersive experience and have to say that the motion hasn’t been bad at all, being dragged behind a huge monster in a boat was a little rough, but even that didn’t do me in.

Spent a little time over on Crim’s show on MSP waves, but it was mostly just talking about nothing while I was there (along with some technical issues). Can’t win ‘em all, I suppose.

Wenche made some homemade pizza crust and we had yummy homemade pizza for dinner. 🍕

We hunted for something to watch and ended up watching some My Name is Earl, but we’ve both seen it before and she turned it off after too long. She put on some other random drama thing that I didn’t really pay attention to, mostly “played” (or, rather, lost) Splinterlands until bedtime.

I found a couple movies that might have been good, but didn’t think the wife would be all that interested (goofy/dorky fantasy type).

Unfortunately, not much to point to as far as accomplishment today, but a pretty fun day nonetheless.

Went in and collected up my brew on CryptoBrewmaster. It was just a regular lager and sold it out for four CBM…I guess it’s not a total lie that the games on this chain are “play-to-earn,” but they won’t be fun and you won’t earn much, guess I just need to wait for the next carbon copy button clicking extravaganza to ape in early.

I did play some Splinterlands in the evening, and I should have expected it to suck after doing well yesterday, but still I was somehow disappointed.

A good hour of watching losing battles and I’d had enough. Just said “fuck it” and left the quest for the day unfinished.

I did decide to buy one more presale pack and then transferred the rest of the vouchers I got today over to H-E. Haven’t sold them out yet, but thinking it’s smart…kinda’ considering buying some DEC with the liquid to add to the airdrop points, but haven’t decided.
