Oct. 9, 22: Routine, Grocery Shopping, TV, and Games

[Well, at least this morning I’m getting a fairly early start on my post…it’s been quite a scramble in the morning the last three days, although I’ll take the sleeping in any day! I am feeling a bit better this morning, so no jinx, hopefully we’re coming out of the woods now.]

Slept from eight until seven thirty today and even with being up in the night, I ended up with a solid ten hours of sleep. That’s ten the last two nights in a row! 🥳 Actually catching up a bit on what I lost this week. Woke up feeling pretty ill, though, got a cold or something on the backside of the ‘rona. Not got a fever or anything, just coughing and feeling blah.

Not too much interesting to note about the morning routine. I was short on time, so just quick checked the markets, did a little curation, got every caught up from falling asleep early last night, and then got to work on my post. Didn’t have a whole lot of time (or all that much to say, to be honest), but I got a moderately good post done and shared for the day…hard to keep motivated doing this every day, but I know I’d be upset with myself in a week if I didn’t…

Speaking of which, I happened to check in on another account that I hadn’t seen or heard from in a while. Best I can recall, we were just about the same level of HP…now he’s got over a quarter million HP and is getting his ass kissed by whales. I don’t get it, and I have to admit I’m seriously butthurt…makes me feel really bad about how little progress I’ve made relatively speaking. I’m assuming he bought, but looking at the crazy amounts they’re making on their posts, maybe not. 😡 Whatever, it’s tainted how I feel about Hive, but there’s always some Joneses to try and keep up with.

I happened to go in and poke around on Pizza Discord and realized I’ve been in there for over a year already! 😱 Time flies, I suppose, but I think that means I might need to get a life…

After I got my post done and shared, it was time to head in to do the weekly grocery shopping. We needed basically everything and we busted two hundred bucks easy. 😖 Got home, got stuff put away, and then grabbed a sandwich for lunch.

Slowed down a bit then, sort of half hit the wall, but kept myself awake. It had been literally a month since the wife and I had had any intimate time (she was gone for two weeks and then we’ve both been sick since she got back) and so even though neither of us was feeling all that well, we hopped in the shower…didn’t even make it out. 😉

That was basically it for the day. We plopped in front of the tube and watched a bunch of Murder, She Wrote…loving rewatching all these old shows that I remember from when I was a kid.

Wenche made us some sausages and mashed potatoes for dinner and I kinda’ started falling asleep pretty early again. I woke up around eleven or so when she turned off the TV and went out to the couch and I was glad that I got a chance to reset Dungeon Master over night instead of missing all night again.

Really hoping that getting caught up on sleep is going to help with my overall quality of life in general and hoping to finally get past being sick and get back into the swing of things. Got a full week of teaching ahead, so no rest for the wicked.

It is frustrating, though…Thursday evening after work I see so much getting done over the weekend and then Monday morning rolls around and I look back and nothing got done…the website is still a thousand miles from being ready, the upstairs of the house is still completely fucked, I didn’t even touch the Model A all summer long, the basement foundation is still crumbling,…I’m going to end up dying with fifteen things half-ass finished and pass into obscurity, so much for purchasing my immortality with the currency of ideas…haven’t had a meaningful thought in years.

I’m surprised, no drunks and still zero Ego on Rising Star. That means missions for now. Looks like I’m close to the next level as well, but I think it’s like thirteen more still before the next mission unlocks. It’s literally been months since I’ve made any kind of progress with this…it was fun at the beginning for a couple weeks I had goals and met them…after that, though, it’s just been a slog for nothing…exponentially diminishing returns.

Yet another day passes and yet another day of not sitting at the computer. Honestly, if I was able to get myself to focus to the point of sitting down at the computer, I’d try and get something done on the website rather than messing with HashKings. I guess it is good experience…I’m basically trying to design Mythix to not suck like the rest of these games; and if it’s not sustainable, I’ll admit that’s my fault instead of claiming to be a tokenomics genius while begging for chain funds.

Wow! It’s actually been six days since the last time I played Splinterlands. Can’t remember the last time I went that long…do I miss it? Not really, been earning WomBucks and NFTs playing games that are actually fun to play instead.

Went in and claimed my SPS interest and it was two day’s worth that was waiting. Decided to stake it, so I think that’s three days I’ve staked, time to save up some liquid to swap out.

Still haven’t bothered with my vouchers, probably time to unload some of those as well, but I’ve been saying that for a while.
