Declan Rice is confused. Joining Arteta's battalion or seeking titles next to Pep Guardiola?

Rice fits better with Mikel Arteta's team at Arsenal, but Pep Guardiola offers guaranteed titles at the Etihad Stadium!

Declan Rice has made difficult decisions before, when he decided to play for England, having represented Ireland.

The reaction from Irish audiences was certainly angry, but Rice dealt with it quietly, explaining that he did what he saw best.

Rice played in last year's World Cup, while Ireland have not reached the tournament since 2002, and he is sure to become an English international, making him a more attractive proposition for sponsors and companies.

Lauded by the Premier League's elite

Everyone knows that Rice will make a right decision, away from emotion, after proving himself among the Premier League's top players.

When the transfer window opened, Rice looked set to join last season's runners-up, with the Gunners making their first offer in time. However, the first offer was immediately rejected, as was the second, and reports suggested West Ham were too angry with Arsenal, for their low estimate of their most expensive player.

Will Arsenal be punished for devaluing Rice?

The third offer appears to be coming soon. After West Ham reject less than 100 million offers, while other clubs seek the player's signature, the two sides must progress quickly, and aggressively.

It was therefore in Arsenal's interest to finish this deal as soon as possible, as the longer it goes on, the more likely it is that rivals will emerge to sign Rice. That's what really happened.

Manchester duo seeking to sign Rice?

Last Wednesday, Manchester United were close to negotiating with Rice, and McTominay or Harry Maguire will be involved in the deal, with West Ham demanding a huge sum of money.

The other side of Manchester seeks to join the England international, while Calvin Phillips moves to West Ham.

Surely Rice will consider moving to the Etihad Stadium, which player would prefer to be in a Pep Guardiola-led team, but will Manchester City be the right choice at this time?

Phillips put in place a warning for Rice
His favourite position in front of the defensive line is currently busy with Rodri, who is still 26 years old, and outstanding as the best defensive midfielder in the world currently.

Rice has sometimes been used as a central defender in the past, and with Rice's adaptability to different positions, he may play similarly to Stones, as an offensive quarterback.

The problem that Rice might face is to remain on the bench, as happened with Jack Grealish.

In fact, Manchester City, ready to abandon Phillips after only a year, after joining with a huge sum of money, should be a warning signal for Rice.

Arsenal Core Player

Rice will bet on becoming immediately one of Mikel Arteta's starting line-up names, the midfielder Arsenal desperately need.

Rice will provide additional coverage for the back four, which was seriously compromised, following William Saliba's injury last season, while Bukayo Saka, Odegaard and Martinelli will benefit from Rice's ability to win and distribute the ball.

According to reports, the idea of joining the Emirates Stadium has long provoked Rice's enthusiasm, meaning the Gunners still have a chance of securing their highest transfer target this summer.

Rice must choose Arsenal, but..

It remains confusing, playing for Old Trafford, winning trophies without participating as a core, or joining Arteta's youth team.

Therefore, although he should choose Arsenal, if he chose City it would not be a surprise. If history has taught us something, it teaches us that Rice will have difficulty, in rejecting any opportunity to apply to him, to win tournaments and earn more money.
