The last of them is Anthony Taylor .. Rulers chased by the fans because of controversial decisions!

The weakest component of the spherical system

Referees usually have the longitudinal hand on the field for the 90 minutes of matches, they are considered the strongest element of the system throughout the games, but after the match is finished and the referees whistle, they are the weakest unchallenged.

When the power of the referees ends, the power of the rest of the system starts with players, coaches and fans, and everyone begins to chase the referees and hold them accountable for their decisions within the green rectangle.

This is what usually happens, but some referees face a more extreme fate, regretting refereeing specific matches, being paradoxical in their careers and becoming pursued by the masses.

Tom Henning

Until his retirement in 2013, Norwegian referee Tom Henning, who managed the famous Chelsea vs Barcelona game in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals 2008 - 2009, remained stigmatized by the decisions he made in that game that were in favour of the Catalans.

Henning then indicated his apologies for making those mistakes that cost Chelsea to leave the Champions League later and not reach the final that Barcelona won for the third time in their history.

Piero Chicarini

The Italian referee who refused to award a penalty is perhaps the most controversial in the history of Escudetto, wrote on himself the anger of the Neratzuri fans forever!.

In the 1997-98 season, when the conflict between Juventus and Inter Milan was heated for the Escudetto title, the teams faced the 31 round of the competition and the difference between them 4 points will suffice for Inter's victory to make it one point, leaving Juventus with open prospects in 3 matches drawn in only any of them and overrulping Ronaldo's comers over the league.

You can imagine the excitement of a game like that in Turin, Del Piero led with the first goal for the hosts, before the breakthrough shot, a penalty demanded by Inter players, but Chicarini did not give it to Ronaldo, insisting later until 2019 that he went to defender Mark Oliano and not the other way around.

Chicarini denied Inter the opportunity to adjust, and a few minutes later he counted a penalty many saw as less obvious in Del Piero's favour against Nigerian Taribo West, true that it was lost, but it opened the door wide to questions about Chicarini's directing the interview for Yufi.

What exacerbated that speculation was Juventus falling into the trap of the Calciopoli scandal years later in 2006.

The Neratzuri fans demanded the retirement of Chicarini, who has been having problems with every visit to Milan since this date, a football match that wrote anger at the referee.

Howard Web

A Howard Webb-sized referee should be best known for being a referee for the 2010 Champions League final, and the World Cup final that same year, but you'll find Webb's greatest reputation for accusing him of permanent bias to Manchester United.

Steven Gerrard's FA Cup dismissal against United, and Berbatov's mock penalty in the game itself, cannot be forgotten, but he himself admitted in 2020 that his penalty for Manchester United against Tottenham, which cost Liverpool the loss of the Premier League in 2009, was a wrong decision, suggesting that he "wished Cristiano Ronaldo missed it. But he didn't! ".

Webb received his share of the infuriation of the England fans, first of all the Liverpool crowd, and commented many photos and then went viral on social media showing him in the stadium as if wearing a Manchester United shirt!.

Byron Moreno

South Korea was fortunate with the rulers who crossed it from the European giants Spain and Italy, Italy, which had the lion's share of the arbitration disaster of its Ecuadorian hero Byron Moreno.

He counted a questionable penalty for Korea, disallowed two controversial goals for Italy, refused to award a penalty to Tutti and then dismissed him!.. Is there more to this?

Moreno always says he is comfortable with all his decisions, although until 2022 he tells Italian newspapers that he is under a barrage of criticism from the Atzuri audience!.

Michael Oliver

The English referee found himself in front of a complex situation, a penalty in the final minute of the life of Real Madrid vs Juventus in the second leg of the 2017-2018 Champions League quarter-finals awarded to Lucas Vázquez, successfully executed by Cristiano Ronaldo and was able to pass Real Madrid in the final corner to the semi-finals of the tournament that was crowned.

Juventus fans did not imagine that their team would score a comeback at the Bernabeu in particular by signing a full 3 goals against Real Madrid, and then the dream is lost because of a polemical penalty calculated by a young English referee!.

Jam poured their anger on Oliver, and returning to his wife's social media accounts, they took out a photo of her at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium itself, and from this moment on, Oliver started paying the price!.

José Arnoldo Amaya

All these criticisms are within legitimate limits, but to get to murder, that's what happened with Salvadoran José Arnoldo Amaya.

About two months ago in El Salvador, Amaya ran the last football match of his Salvadoran league campaign, a red sheet that cost him his life.

Anthony Taylor

That balance of anger towards the referees continues this year from Chelsea fans against English referee Anthony Taylor, who signed 50 thousand Blues supporters a petition not to arbitrate team games!.

This came against the backdrop of Taylor reckoning with two questionable goals for Spurs against Chelsea, with Antonio Conte's side tied with Tuchel's men in the second round of the Premier League 2022-2023, demanding that the Chelsea crowd who clearly said Taylor "has a clear agenda against Chelsea over the years" not assign him a game to which the Blues are party.

Always matches led by Taylor and Chelsea are a party, followed or preceded by protests like last season

Sport will always have human error as it is down to how they see it and read the incidents. The hair pulling should have been conveyed by the VAR official and wasn't. being a ref is not easy and you do try and get things right and be as fair as possible to both teams. I am enjoying how they are allowing the game to flow allowing for more contact. Fans will always see for one way or the other and never against their team.

Yes, of course, human error is very likely, and it is difficult to produce a match without effective or ineffective errors, as long as the referee tries, as possible, to be fair. Everyone within the sports system in general is committed to the spirit of sportsmanship.

Even though I was happy that Chelsea lost that game against Barca, Tom Henning has to be football's biggest fraudulent referee. That night was one of the worst refereeing I have ever seen.

As for Anthony Taylor, I couldn't blame him much for the error as referees don't have the luxury of replays and have to make decisions in split seconds. Besides, it was Oliver in the VAR room who should've seen it but decided to ignore it.

Mistakes are contained in football even in the presence of the mouse technique, the referee is trying as possible to be fair, even last season there was controversy before Taylor led a Chelsea match in which he had a party
