A Moment in Ibeju-Lekki Football

It was a fun and hectic Sunday! De Ultimate Empire hosted a Valentine Championship for the winners of the recently played competitions Infinity FC and John Kemini FC which include trophies and medals.

On this same day, the Coaches of the Ibeju-Lekki axis organized a Novelty Match between the Coaches and a Meeting to discuss the way forward of the Ibeju-Lekki football.

The match was tough between Infinity FC and John Kemini FC. In the first half Infinity FC took the possession but the faraway team did the scoring. John Kemini FC took the lead in the first half by two goals to zero, the goals were scored by the Captain of the team.

In the final minute of the first half, the longest man in the Infinity FC team put in a header from a long throwing and revived the hope of the Infinity FC team and fans. The first half ended with 2-1 in favour of John Kemini FC.

In the second half, I will give the possession as 50/50, both teams played well, John Kemini FC wanted to defend their 2-1 but unlucky for the team, Infinity FC got a late free-kick which was converted into a goal and balanced the match. Just a few minutes later the referee blows the final whistle and we moved into the penalty kick-off.

The game of luck sets in! John Kemini FC took the first penalty and the Infinity FC goalkeeper saved it, it was a poor penalty by the John Kemini payer. All other penalties played were scored, the result of the penalty kick ended with 5-4. Infinity FC lifted the trophy! It was a lovely match!

The captain of the John Kemini FC took the man of the match award, it was well deserved, he played well!

A Novelty match was played between Ibeju-Lekki Coaches (EXPRESS AXIS) and Okun Coaches (OKUN AXIS). The match was fun, trust me the coaches are still fit and played as if they were all u17, the fitness, tactics were impressive, this tells the coaches still train with their players. Ibeju-Lekki bagged the victory after coming from behind to win by three goals to one (2-1), the goals were all scored in the second half.

After the match, a meeting was held by 18 coaches from different areas. The theme of the meeting is The Betterment of Ibeju-Lekki Football.

The opening prayer was given by Coach Oliseh. Following the opening prayer, the meeting was led by the leader, Coach Dapo. He discussed majorly Ibeju-Lekki's Freedom and Football Improvement, and he said for Ibeju-lekki to gain their freedom, to be able to win the Ibeju-Lekki coaches council, we need seriousness from the coaches around the axis at least 20 serious coaches that are proactive. He talked about meeting punctuality and activeness, he advised the coaches to be active in meeting organized by Ibeju-Lekki coaches because positive turn up will drive in a great result. After that, he talked about Ibeju-lekki League as this will bring many opportunities to the teams and keep all the footballers and coaches engaged. He then mentioned that affiliation is very important, this will make the coach to be recognized in the coaches association and also benefit the coach's team, he motivates the coaches that are not affiliated to try to register as soon as possible as the registration fee is affordable.

Coach Niran emphasized the Ibeju-Lekki Coaches Council. He said for this to happen, we all have to fight it together as this will bring unexpected positive results to Ibeju-Lekki football.

Coach Sanchez then asked questions that what are the plans to stand alone? Requirements to stand alone? And is affiliation first?

Coach Dapo answered the three questions in detail;
He iterates, for we to be able to stand alone, we all need to be proactive, we have to show that we all need freedom. The population of the coaches matters for this to happen, meeting activeness by all the coaches. He said affiliation can come later after we are well organized with a serious turn-up.

Coach Dapo said we need one love from the house, as the adage says that teamwork makes the dream work. He advised the coach to be in a soccer outfit when going to the pitch, and the coaches should be role models in the society and have a good attitude as more eyes are on them. He threw a question about the next meeting to the house following some complaints about the fixed day/time for Sunday's meeting. After many suggestions from the coaches, it was agreed that the next meeting will be discussed online and will fix a date and time for a physical meeting, people will vote and the majority will win the vote said Coach Niran.

Coach Niran said we should keep the online platform and all other information will be carried out on the online platform. Coaches should submit other coaches' numbers that are not in the group to get added up. He talked about the online meeting which people agreed to. He also said people should get affiliated once and for all because this is part of the core requirements that qualify someone as a coach.

Coach Raimi asked about the affiliation fee and Coach Niran replied that it's 15K.

Coach Ultimate came in and said we need a serious commitment from all the coaches, we must all have a burning desire for what we've discussed to be fruitful.

Coach Taiwo talked a lot about the difficulties and partial in Epe Coaches Association and DFA. Epe is biased and they are self-centered when it comes to an appointment and offers from the States. He has fought the Epe council different times on this but all to no avail, this will still not stop him from fighting them but we all need to fight this together if we want our freedom. Coach Dapo said Eti-Osa has stand-alone so Ibeju-Lekki can do it too. Coach Taiwo then said we need a good structure, activeness in an online and physical meeting (meeting agenda with time and topics).

Coach Friday said we all need to be time conscious. He begged the coaches to be punctual at the fixed time.

Coach Dapo said we need the Drafts/Minutes of our meeting both online and offline, he said it is very important as this is one one the main requirements that will be asked by the State if we want to stand alone.

Coach Ani permitted to end the meeting and the closing prayer was led by Coach Moshood.
