DFA Visit to Bright Star FC Match Reports

We embarked on a long journey to a small town called Idaso after Eleko Beach. This town is becoming popular because a Refinery owned by the Africa Richest Man Dangote is located there. We traveled there to play with Bright Star FC u15 team, a journey with nothing less than 45 mins despite a good road with no traffic. We arrived at the field around 1 PM, on getting there the home team is already on the pitch.

We were 23 in numbers and it takes two cabs/buses/taxis to get to Bright Star FC field, but if you're lucky enough and the first cab you onboard is going to that area, then you will only need one cab. From our Bus-top, you will come down at Eleko Junction, from there, you will enter Idaso Cab and will be dropped at the Bright Star FC field alongside the road.

After the two coaches greeted, the referee was introduced and did screening for both teams. We had no problem with our boys because we don't have any overage players, the home team had four to five overage players and the referee ask their coach to replace two and asked us if we are okay with their squad, and we said yeah. We can move on!

The DFA Coach explained the tactics to play with the home team, Bright Star FC using the Tactical Board with his first eleven squads. The information we used was 4-2-3-1 (4 Defenders - 2 Defensive Midfielders, 3 Attackers with Right Winger, Left-winger, and Attacking Midfielder, and 1 Striker)

After the greetings, the referee called the two captains to choose a side of a coin, and after the tossed the DFA captain got it right. He asked the DFA captain to choose the side of play and the captain chose the right side.

The match got started with DFA starting the kickoff from the middle of the field. Everywhere was crowded and the people on the roadside, stopped by to watch the match.

Both teams were playing very well and we had off-target by Chedrack and a few mins after that Bright Stat also had off-target. Some mins later, DFA started dominating the home team from the midfield, we were pushing the attack and trying to net first and on the verge of this, we got a penalty kick after their defender committed a foul on the DFA forwarder, Abdul Rahmon. Chedrack played the penalty and converted it into a goal, DFA took the lead, BSFC 0 - 1 DFA.

After Bright Star FC passed from the midfield, the match continued and some mins after that, one of the DFA central defense, Fawas did a silly mistake by missing the ball and tackling the home team striker from behind, the striker fell in the box and the referee blows a penalty. They also converted the penalty into a goal and the game got leveled.

Qozim who played as the right-winger is the youngest but was very impressive by holding the ball and dribbling their defenders and this got all the eyes on him. Qozim's work rate was massive.

Around 35 mins of the match, DFA got a corner kick, Chedrack played the Corner kick and went for a goal. Chedrack scored directly from the corner kick spot and that makes the count 1 - 2.

Around 42 mins, Biodun intersect the ball from the midfield and passed it down to Abdul Rahmon, and Abdul Rahmon passed the ball to Chedrack and beat the defense, it's Chedrack and the Goalkeeper but didn't hesitate to play the ball into the net and that makes it 1 - 3, Chedrack got a hat trick.

Halt-time Ended with 1 - 3!!!

We got back to the game after the second-half break, and after some minutes the home team made some substitutions. The home team game changed a bit and since they need goals they were putting effort into the game but all to avail, the DFA team was too strong.

One of the home team players played a long kick and a miscalculation of the ball by the DFA goalkeeper caused a silly nutmeg goal and that makes the count 2 - 3.

The DFA coach subbed off Qozim with Ebuka and just 5 minutes after he got into the game, he makes the count 4 for DFA with an assist by Chedrack.

The final whistle is blown and DFA won the match with 4 goals to 2. After the match, the referee applauded the team's performance and gave Qozim kudos, and also gave the lad $0.92.

Chedrack is the Man of the Match with 3 goals and one assist, he's involved in all the goals scored by DFA.
