Greetings Actifit friends!
Resulta que recientemente estuve en la ciudad de Maracay, en el estado Aragua, Venezuela, y fue una experiencia bastante especial. Viajé junto a unos amigos y, antes de dirigirnos al hotel donde nos íbamos a hospedar, decidimos salir a dar una vuelta por la ciudad. La idea era conocer un poco más de sus calles, su gente, su ambiente... y también, por supuesto, aprovechar para caminar y mover el cuerpo.
Maracay es una ciudad grande, con muchas avenidas amplias y lugares interesantes por descubrir. Desde que llegamos, nos llamó la atención lo viva que se sentía. Así que sin pensarlo mucho, empezamos a recorrer sus calles, hablando, riéndonos y disfrutando del paseo. No teníamos una ruta fija, simplemente íbamos dejándonos llevar, explorando a nuestro ritmo.
Lo bonito de caminar con amigos es que el ejercicio se siente diferente. No estás pendiente del cansancio ni del tiempo; estás compartiendo, desconectando un poco del día a día, y al mismo tiempo, activándote. A cada paso íbamos comentando sobre lo que veíamos, algunos recordaban cosas que sabían de la ciudad, otros simplemente admiraban los paisajes urbanos.
Una de las cosas que más me gustó fue cómo el ambiente nos envolvía. El clima estaba agradable, había gente en las calles, vendedores, música que salía de alguna tienda… todo eso sumaba a la experiencia. Y aunque fue un recorrido sencillo, se sintió como una pequeña aventura.
Después de un buen rato caminando, ya con algo de cansancio acumulado, fuimos al hotel para instalarnos y descansar un poco. Pero sin duda, esa caminata improvisada fue uno de los mejores momentos del día.
Así que nada, quería compartirles esto porque a veces no se necesita mucho para disfrutar: basta con tener buenos amigos, estar en un lugar nuevo y tener ganas de moverse un poco. Les recomiendo que si alguna vez visitan una ciudad diferente, se animen a hacer lo mismo. Caminar es una forma genial de conocer y conectarse.

It turns out that I was recently in the city of Maracay, in the state of Aragua, Venezuela, and it was quite a special experience. I traveled with some friends, and before heading to the hotel where we were staying, we decided to go out for a walk around the city. The idea was to get to know a little more about its streets, its people, its atmosphere... and also, of course, to take advantage of the opportunity to walk and move our bodies.
Maracay is a large city with many wide avenues and interesting places to discover. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how lively it felt. So without thinking twice, we started walking around the streets, talking, laughing, and enjoying the walk. We didn't have a set route; we just went with the flow, exploring at our own pace.
The nice thing about walking with friends is that the exercise feels different. You're not thinking about tiredness or time; you're sharing, disconnecting a little from everyday life, and at the same time, getting active. With every step we took, we commented on what we saw, some of us remembering things we knew about the city, others simply admiring the urban landscapes.
One of the things I liked most was how the atmosphere enveloped us. The weather was pleasant, there were people in the streets, vendors, music coming from a store... all of that added to the experience. And although it was a simple tour, it felt like a little adventure.
After walking for a while, and feeling a little tired, we went to the hotel to settle in and rest a bit. But without a doubt, that impromptu walk was one of the best moments of the day.
So, I wanted to share this with you because sometimes it doesn't take much to enjoy yourself: all you need is good friends, to be in a new place, and to feel like moving around a bit. I recommend that if you ever visit a different city, you try doing the same thing. Walking is a great way to get to know a place and connect with it.
