in the next days and weeks I want to give here some information about the life and its costs here in the Dominican Republic. Maybe one or the other is thinking about moving at least temporarily his center of life to somewhat more serene regions of the world, which I can understand very well. Europe and especially the FRG are currently somehow a hysteria-driven continent with the potential for even more turbulent times. Besides, life is always better in southern regions.

If you have concrete questions, I can certainly answer a few of them sensibly and will be happy to do so.

in den nächsten Tagen und Wochen will ich hier ein paar Informationen geben über das Leben und dessen Kosten hier in der Dominikanischen Republik. Vielleicht überlegt sich ja der eine oder andere zumindest zeitweise seinen Lebensmittelpunkt in etwas gelassenere Regionen der Erde zu verlegen, was ich sehr gut verstehen kann. Europa und insbesondere die BRD sind ja zurzeit irgendwie ein von Hysterie getriebener Kontinent mit Potenzial zu noch unruhigeren Zeiten. Außerdem lebt es sich immer besser in südlichen Gegenden.
Falls Ihr konkrete Fragen habt, ein paar davon kann ich sicherlich sinnvoll beantworten und werde dies auch gerne tun

I myself had enough of the loaded atmosphere after 20 months in German Corona exile and ended up here in Punta Cana last November, because Asia was still very busy inventing new regulations on a weekly basis.
At that time there were only Mexico and the Dominican Republic as a destination country for me, all others had too strong entry requirements or too short stay and since the DomRep offers an unlimited visa and in addition the flights from Frankfurt here are unrivaled cheap and direct, it has just become this island.

Unlimited Visa in the Dominican Republic

It's actually not an unlimited visa, But the authorities waive the work that visa extensions do now and for that you pay a "penalty" on departure equal to the cost of the accrued extension fees. If you don't want to rely on it, just go to the immigration office and do it there for the same price.

Ich selbst hatte nach 20 Monaten im deutschen Corona Exil genug von der aufgeladenen Atmosphäre und bin letzten November hier in Punta Cana gelandet, weil Asien immer noch sehr stark damit beschäftigt war, wöchentlich neue Regelungen zu erfinden.
Damals gab es nur Mexiko und die Dominikanische Republik als Zielland für mich, alle anderen hatten zu starke Einreisebeistimmungen oder zu kurze Bleibedauer und da die DomRep ein unbegrenztes Visum anbietet und dazu noch die Flüge von Frankfurt hierher konkurrenzlos billig und direkt sind, ist es halt diese Insel geworden.

Unbegrenztes Visa in der Dominikanischen Republik
Es ist eigentlich kein unbegrenztes Visa, Aber die Behörden verzichten auf die Arbeit, die Visaverlängerungen nun mal machen und dafür zahlt man bei der Ausreise eine "Strafe" in gleicher Höhe der Kosten der aufgelaufenen Verlängerungsgebühren. Wer sich nicht darauf verlassen will, geht eben zum Einwanderungsbüro und macht es zum selben Preis dort.

The best deal from Germany is with Condor, which flies directly from Frankfurt/Main and by feeder from many feeder airports all year round to Punta Cana or in the winter season also to Puerto Plata. These planes are indeed narrow and have a worse service than scheduled airlines, also look somehow shabbier, but for 10 hours it goes already times.
I have paid including diving luggage 500€, still caught a fork flight over Jamaica and arrived after 18 hours in Punta Cana.

Der beste Deal von Deutschland ist mit Condor, welche direkt von Frankfurt/Main und per Zubringer von vielen Zubringerairports ganzjährig nach Punta Cana oder in der Wintersaison auch nach Puerto Plata fliegt. Diese Flieger sind zwar eng und haben einen schlechteren Service als Linienflieger, sehen auch irgendwie schäbiger aus, aber für 10 Stunden geht es schon mal.
Ich habe inklusive Tauchgepäck 500€ bezahlt, dabei noch einen Gabelflug über Jamaika erwischt und bin nach 18 Stunden in Punta Cana angekommen.
