Hallo Freunde,

Beim Spaziergang gestern ist mein Smartphone ausgefallen. Keine Reaktion mehr, tot. Und das 2 Tage vor der Abreise. Damit war der entspannende Moment des Spaziergangs vorbei, ich hatte nur noch den Gedanken, dass ich am Montag in irgendeinen Laden gehen, irgendein Handy kaufen und den ganzen Tag damit verbringen muss, mich an all die Apps zu erinnern, sie zu installieren und zu aktivieren. Das Gleiche mache ich mit Dutzenden von Banken, Geldbörsen und Börsen, ganz zu schweigen von all dem anderen Kram.
Vor allem dieses Google Authentifizier hat mir schon beim letzten Mal Probleme bereitet. Das geht nur, wenn das alte Telefon noch funktioniert.
Aber zum Glück war es nur eine Verkettung unglücklicher Umstände. Das Telefon wollte aktualisieren, der Akku war fast leer, es war null Grad und mein Handyguthaben war aufgebraucht. Also hat es wahrscheinlich zwei Stunden lang versucht, das Update mit minimalem Datendurchsatz zu beenden, und das hat den Rest des Akkus gekostet. Zumindest hoffe ich das.

Bis zum Ausfall war es ein schöner Spaziergang. Es war zwar kalt, aber nicht mehr windig und ab und zu sogar sonnig. Es war ja auch die vorerst letzte Tour auf dieser Strecke.
Der Sturm der letzten Tage hat wieder viele Birken umgeworfen, aber die meisten dieser Bäume sind sowieso krank oder schon abgestorben. Die Ära der Birken in dieser Gegend scheint wirklich zu Ende zu gehen.

While walking yesterday, my smartphone died. No response, dead. And this 2 days before departure. So the relaxing moment of the walk was over, I just had the thought that on Monday I have to go to some store, buy a phone and spend the whole day remembering, installing and activating all the apps. I have to do this with dozens of apps from banks, wallets and crypto exchanges, not to mention all the other stuff.
Google Authenticate in particular gave me trouble last time. It only works if the old phone still works.
But luckily it was just a chain of unfortunate circumstances. The phone wanted to update, the battery was almost dead, it was freezing, and I was out of airtime. So it probably spent two hours trying to finish the update with minimal data throughput, and that took the rest of the battery. At least I hope that was the reason.

It was a nice walk up to the failure. It was cold, but no longer windy, and even sunny from time to time. It was also the last tour on this route for now.
The storm of the last few days knocked down a lot of birch trees, but most of them are sick or dead anyway. The era of birch trees in this area really seems to be coming to an end.
