Buonanotte a tutti! the second match of the Champions League semi-final, with the Derby Della Madonnina as the absolute protagonist of Wednesday's soccer day. Milan "received" Inter in a duel that promised spectacle for both teams, however, the plural would become singular. Spectacle was only given by one team; Inzaghi's team. Inter reaffirmed their very good moment and their Champions League progress by giving Milan a dance in the first half in which if they had won 4-0 in the first 45 minutes it would have been absolutely deserved. However, Inter had plenty of chances to seal the series, but they didn't, they won 2-0 and that's what keeps Milan's hopes alive for next Tuesday. Here are my feelings and analysis of the match, join me!

Apart from Sassuolo, Inter has the measure of Milan in recent matches; goals, comebacks, winning finals, and so on. Maybe it's a question of coaches, since Pioli has been with Milan for almost 4 years, and every season, against Inter, they always suffer a scandalous defeat.

For his first derby, he suffered a comeback that still hurts, after Milan was leading 2-0, Inter would turn the result around in 45 minutes with a final score of 4-2. The following season, Milan would be defeated by Inter 3-0 in a key duel for the Serie A leadership, and Inter after that victory would never lose the first place and would be crowned champion. Last season, although Milan (because it is necessary to mention the bad and the good) won Serie A, beating Inter in a key match in February and coming from behind, in the Coppa Italia they suffered a scandalous 3-0 defeat in the second leg of the semis against the team coached by Inzaghi.

This season, in the Italian Super Cup, the Neroazurri were beaten again and again: 3-0 in January of this year, to add to a crisis in Milan that was diminishing as the team progressed in the Champions League.

After so many defeats, it was expected a blow on the table from Milan today, with an ideal scenario to build the epic, but it could not be done. Inter would win again. Although this time not by 3-0...

EL INTER SABIA A LO QUE JUGARIA, EL MILAN SABIA QUE NO JUGARIA - INTER KNEW WHAT THEY WOULD PLAY, MILAN KNEW THEY WOULD NOT PLAY

Inter has a very marked style of play and in my opinion is somewhat underrated; it is one of the teams that has one of the best ball control from the back. And they have a midfield full of warriors willing to sacrifice themselves to the maximum for the team. That's why they have reached where they are, Champions League semis, Cup final coming up, and fighting for direct entry to Champions League qualification (in case they don't win the Champions League).

Milan also has a very marked style: give the ball to Leao and let the Portuguese play his magic. The winger was injured against Lazio and today he was going to miss the most important match of his career. With such a sensitive loss, Pioli had to improvise with Salaemaekers covering the space.

We had barely settled on the couch to enjoy the match and within 10 minutes Inter was already winning the game by 2-0. Once Mkhitaryan scored the second goal, I had the feeling that it was going to be a very difficult night for Milan, even more so if in the next 10 minutes Inter would hit the post and keep attacking. Milan offered no resistance whatsoever in any of their lines.

There was a breath of fresh air for a couple of seconds at the San Siro when the VAR corrected a decision by Del Cerro Grande, who had called for a penalty in Inter's favor and a potential 3-0 lead. Milan were beginning to get spiritual and technological help.

They got it cheap, as Inter had chances to go ahead in the first half, as I mentioned above. In the second half things changed a bit and Milan attacked a bit more with Messias as the protagonist -or in any case, antagonist because of his terrible definitions- on the left flank. Some dangerous approaches but not too much, and Inter defended spectacularly the result.

Just a shot against the post by Tonali, and little else. Thiaw came in and gave a fresh air to the Rossoneri defense that was being widely outplayed by Dzeko and Lautaro, unfortunately no one in attack, for Milan, could also change the face of Pioli's team, as Origi generated a couple of overflows but nothing different from Salaemaekers and Pobega played very little.

Inter took shelter and thought that 2-0 would be enough for today. Milan stayed alive and awaiting what they can do in 7 days...

CONCLUSIONES FINALES Y DESPEDIDA - FINAL CONCLUSIONS AND FAREWELL

During the broadcast I heard the commentator say that Leao's absence didn't have much influence because the goals didn't come from his flank or because of mistakes by the player who replaced him. The issue is not Inter's goals in his absence, but the psychological impact on Milan's players knowing that they were without their most influential player. You can be trailing and know that you have a guy in your team who can change the course of the game at any moment. That's what Milan has with Leao on the pitch, but this time he couldn't be there. Leao's absence influenced the result, in my opinion.

Messias is a professional footballer, but he cannot wear the Milan shirt. It's funny how when he arrived, I was reading his stats at Crotone and I remember seeing that he had generated as many dribbles as Neymar at PSG. The Brazilian always does the same play, predictable and crude, he tries to dribble Bastoni, who is 1.95 m tall and a physical powerhouse.... The boy does not offer solutions and that is the reality.

Tomori was widely outplayed by both Inter strikers, the Englishman is struggling when facing Lautaro and Dzeko, his level in the last derbies has been deplorable.

Giroud did the great Haaland yesterday, and Acerbi the great Rudiguer. The French striker was in the pocket of the former Lazio (and Milan too) in a very bad night for the former Arsenal.

The tie is almost over, waiting for a miracle, for Leao to recover, and for the players to have a good night, but everything looks complicated for Milan. So we come to the end of this post, thank you very much for your support and we'll keep reading!
