My Actifit Report Card: March 27 2024 /Allergy Season, Cherry Blossom Season

Spring is here!

The cherry blossoms are nearly in full bloom. I couldn't resist capturing the beauty of the cherry blossoms on my walk. It's so nice to see the cherry blossoms are cherished and admired. The cherry blossoms are the national flower of Japan, so it fills me with a sense of joy.

However, besides enjoying the beauty of the cherry blossoms, my hay fever is reaching its peak. Even my skin and the inside of my ears are itchy. This year, my hay fever seems worse than usual. I try to manage it with as little allergy medicine as possible, but I worry that I may be relying on it too much this year, especially considering it's only March.

On a brighter note, it seems my eyelids won't break out in a rash this year, which is a relief. It turns out the cause of the rash wasn't hay fever after all. For years, I thought it was caused by hay fever or my allergy to cats (sorry, Pepper), but maybe not.

Though I haven't undergone any tests, it seems I'm allergic to eye drops. While they don't bother my eyes, they irritate my skin...I know I'm weird. What a troublesome thing.

I use Japanese eye drops, not one for allergies but for tired eyes. They are minty and refreshing. Haha, that’s how I describe but I don’t think they actually have mint in it or are there? At least it feels like it has mint in it.

My husband swears that it is weird to put something minty in the eyes. It feels so nice though! Haha

I've discovered I can't tolerate eye drops from here (Canada). I find they all sting and worsen the condition.

That’s weird for me more than minty eye drops!

These days, I rinse my face with water immediately after using eye drops. This provides temporary relief from itchy eyes and keeps my skin rash-free.

Speaking of allergies, I've been allergic to chemical sunscreens for years. I spent one summer with eczema all over my face, hands, arms and legs without knowing the cause. Now that I think of it, it would have been easy to identify the cause, but I was using different brands of sunscreen for my body and face, making it challenging to pinpoint the problem. Since then, I've switched to 100% mineral sunscreen, despite its white, sticky, and uncomfortable nature.

This year, I'm cautiously trying a chemical sunscreen recommended by a lady at the drugstore. While it has a strong scent my skin seems to be tolerating it well.

As the weather improves and we spend more time outdoors, I'm reminded of the importance of taking care of our skin and managing our allergies. It may be a hassle, but let's all strive to do our best!

春ですね。

桜がほぼ満開です。とってもキレイなので散歩コースに咲いている桜の写真をたくさん撮りました。

こうして見てみると結構たくさんの桜の木が植えられて愛されているのだなと思います。

桜 = 日本のイメージが強いのでなんだか嬉しくなります。

さてさて、桜はとってもキレイですが、花粉症が大変です。

肌や耳の中までも痒いです。今年は花粉症が例年よりひどいように感じます。どうしても我慢できない時だけアレルギーの薬を飲むようにしているのですが、まだ3月なのに少々服用しすぎな気がします。

けれど今年は瞼がかぶれることがないと思うので、その分は楽です。

なぜかというと、かぶれの原因が花粉症ではなかったからです。

ここ数年、春になると瞼がかぶれて腫れるので花粉症のせいにしていました。けれど春以外でもかぶれる事があって、私は猫アレルギーもあるので、これまた猫のせい(ごめんよペッパー) にしていたのですが違ったようなのです。

検査をしてもらったわけではないので、確かではないのですが、どうやら私は目薬にアレルギーみたいです。

目は大丈夫なのですが、肌がダメ…面倒な体質ですね。

使っているのは日本のすうっとする目薬です。アレルギー用ではなくてスッキリするヤツを目が痒い時に使っています。

主人は目がスースーする目薬なんてヘンだ！そんなもの目に入れられない！と面白い反応をします。

こちらではすうっとする目薬はなく、疲れ目、ドライアイ、アレルギー用など、いろいろありますが、私はどれも目にしみて余計に赤くなってしまうので使えません。そっちの方がオカシイです。

最近は目薬を使った後すぐに目の周りを水ですすぎます。これでとりあえず目はスッキリ、肌もかぶれることなく過ごせています。

アレルギーと言えば、私は数年前からケミカルサンスクリーンにアレルギーで、原因が分からずに何ヶ月も全身湿疹におおわれて過ごした事がありました。今思えばすぐに分かりそうな事だったのですが、体と顔には違うブランドのサンスクリーンを使っていたので、原因が分かりませんでした。

それ以来ずっとミネラル100%のサンスクリーンを使っています。けれどミネラルサンスクリーンって白浮きするしベタベタして使い心地が悪いんですよね。

で、今年はのケミカルなんだけどわりと大丈夫な人が多いというサンスクリーンを勧められて、耳の後ろに塗って試しています。

LancômeのUV Expert Aquagel Defense 50…海外の化粧品らしくニオイがキツイのですが、肌は大丈夫そうです。たぶん日本にはベタつかないアレルギーもないニオイもない凄いサンスクリーンがあるんですよね。

お天気が良くなって屋外でアクティブに過ごす事が多くなります。

歩数は昨日のものです。よく歩きました。

花が咲いているとあちらこちら立ち寄るので、皆さんの歩数も増えているかもしれないですね。
