Calculating your golf handicap.

I always hear about your golf handicap and people regularly ask my mine when we go golfing or are trying to form teams for future golf. I always just guess and throw out a number. I usually say 40.

I golf like SIR charles. although I have heard he is pretty good now. but this swing cracks me up.

Tonight I decided to calculate my official handicap because I am going to enter into a tournament with friends and the text I got tonight read like this.

"what is your official handicap? No cheating or guessing"

I had no idea how to calculate an official handicap so I looked it up.

You can find your golf handicap by taking the average score of the best eight of your last 20 scores.

This is a rolling score. So those 8 best scores can drop off your last 20 rounds at any time.

I do not have record of 20 rounds played but I have records of my last 10 rounds. So my real handicap is probably somewhere around 25.

Peyton Manning had a handicap rating of 6.4 as of May 2020, according to Golf.com.
Tom Brady had a handicap of 8.1 in 2021, according to Sporting News.
Aaron Rodgers had a handicap of 4.6 as of June 2022, according to Golf.com.
Josh Allen had a 9.0 handicap as of June 2022, according to Sporting News.
Patrick Mahomes played a tournament with a 7.7 handicap in 2021, according to Golf.com.
J.R. Smith self-reported a handicap of five as of April 2022, according to the Washington Post.
Alice Cooper carried an impressive handicap of four at 73 years old in July 2021, according to Golf.com.
