Hello, dear friends of Hive, it's so nice to enjoy another Wednesday walk. I hope you are having a wonderful week, full of health and energy to continue enjoying so many beautiful places that exist in the world.

A couple of weeks ago, we decided to take a walk to the Estadio Metropolitano de Mérida and the 05 Águilas Blancas sports complex, which are located south of the city of Mérida, very close to where I live.

My son had never been there, and we wanted to take him. We thought this afternoon would be perfect, as the weather seemed to be on our side, so, infected by our little one's enthusiasm, we decided to walk there. To be honest, the walk was much longer than we thought. At one point, we thought it would be better to take the bus, but the experience wouldn't be the same.

This area of the city was remodeled in 2005, as the National Games were held here that year. I remember this very well because it was a very good event for the state. At that time, they built the elevated interchange, which greatly improved traffic, the sports complex, and the metropolitan stadium, which was one of the venues for the 2007 Copa América.

Since then, these spaces have been ideal for recreation and sports. I hadn't visited in a long time, so it was an incredible experience that began with an hour-long walk from our house.

After that long walk along Centenario Avenue, we reached the start of the overpass and began to climb. The sun was shining brightly, but suddenly some gray clouds appeared. We thought this route would be shorter, but we were wrong. However, we are glad we took this route because it was interesting to have this view of the city and watch the sunset from the overpass; it's not something we get to do very often.

From here we have a privileged view of a residential area called Campo Claro, a residential area at the foot of the mountain, surrounded by beautiful greenery.

The first thing we saw when we arrived was the Metropolitan Stadium, but it was too late to go inside. We hope to return so our son can see the inside, perhaps when it hosts a national or regional game that we have the opportunity to attend. This stadium is beautiful; I really like its structure and design.

Right across the street is the Cinco Águilas Blancas complex, a place where I have fond memories of training in karate. Walking around this sports complex fills you with energy and peace; the breeze is refreshing, and there are many trails and paths to explore and enjoy.

My favorite part is the garden full of palm trees and this beautiful modern, abstract metal sculpture. I really like it, and it enhances the landscaping and atmosphere of the sports complex.

While they played soccer, I took advantage of our outing to take all these photos to share with you. Not long after we arrived, everything was covered in fog, and the black clouds we saw earlier caught up with us.

It rained heavily without stopping for several minutes; meanwhile, we looked for shelter, and when the rain subsided and night fell, we began our adventure to return home. Thankfully, we were prepared with umbrellas and a raincoat for the child. We walked back along the distributor road, and when we reached the avenue, a bus dropped us off near our house.

It was a great afternoon walk, one that I would repeat many times over, but I think next time we'll take a different route, which we believe may be shorter; we'll find out soon.

Hola, queridos amigos de Hive, qué gusto disfrutar de un miércoles de caminata más. Espero que estén pasando una linda semana, llena de salud y energía para seguir disfrutando de tantos lugares hermosos que existen en el mundo.

Hace un par de semanas decidimos dar una caminata hasta el Estadio Metropolitano de Mérida y el complejo deportivo 05 Águilas Blancas, los cuales están ubicados al sur de la ciudad de Mérida, muy cerca de mi municipio de residencia.

Mi hijo no conocía este lugar y queríamos llevarlo; pensamos que esta tarde sería perfecta, pues el clima parecía estar a nuestro favor, así que, contagiados por el entusiasmo de nuestro pequeño, decidimos caminar hasta allá. La verdad, la caminata fue mucho más larga de lo que pensamos; hubo un momento en que creímos que lo mejor era tomar el autobús, pero la experiencia no sería igual.

Esta zona de la ciudad fue remodelada en el 2005, ya que ese año se celebraron unos Juegos Nacionales aquí; recuerdo muy bien esto, porque fue un acontecimiento muy bueno para el estado. En esa oportunidad construyeron el distribuidor elevado, que hizo que mejorara mucho el tráfico, el complejo deportivo y el estadio metropolitano, que fue una de las sedes para la realización de la Copa América en el 2007.

Desde entonces, estos espacios son ideales para el esparcimiento y el deporte. Tenía mucho tiempo sin visitarlo, así que fue una experiencia increíble que comenzó con una caminata de aproximadamente una hora desde nuestra casa.

Después de esa larga caminata por la avenida Centenario, llegamos al inicio del elevado y comenzamos a subir. El sol estaba resplandeciente, pero de repente algunas nubes grises aparecieron. Pensamos que este trayecto sería más corto, pero estábamos equivocados; sin embargo, nos alegra tomar esta ruta porque fue interesante tener esta vista de la ciudad y ver el atardecer desde el elevado; no es algo que podamos hacer tan seguido.

Desde aquí tenemos una vista privilegiada de una urbanización que se llama Campo Claro, una zona residencial al pie de la montaña, rodeada de un hermoso verde.

Lo primero que observamos al llegar fue el Estadio Metropolitano, pero ya era tarde para entrar; esperamos volver para que nuestro hijo conozca su interior, tal vez, cuando sea sede de algún juego nacional o regional al que tengamos la oportunidad de asistir. Este estadio es hermoso, su estructura y diseño me gustan mucho.

Justo al frente tenemos el complejo Cinco Águilas Blancas, un lugar donde guardo hermosos recuerdos de esa época en la que entrené karate do. Recorrer este complejo deportivo te llena de energía y paz; la brisa que corre es refrescante, tiene muchos senderos y caminerías para recorrer y disfrutar.

Mi parte favorita es el jardín lleno de palmeras y esta hermosa escultura metálica, moderna y abstracta. Me gusta muchísimo y realza el paisajismo y el ambiente del complejo deportivo.

Mientras ellos jugaban futbol, aprovechando nuestro paseo, yo capturé todas estas fotos para compartirlas con ustedes. No había pasado mucho tiempo desde que llegamos cuando todo se cubrió de neblina y las nubes negras que vimos antes nos alcanzaron.

Llovió intensamente sin cesar por varios minutos; mientras tanto buscamos un refugio y cuando la intensidad de la lluvia bajó y la noche llegó, comenzamos nuestra aventura para volver a casa. Menos mal que fuimos preparados con paraguas y un impermeable para el niño. Caminamos de nuevo por el distribuidor y, al llegar a la avenida, un bus nos dejó cerca de casa.

Fue una gran tarde de caminata, que repetiría muchas veces más, pero creo que la siguiente vez tomaremos otra ruta, que creemos puede ser corta; lo descubriremos pronto.
