Sports Center Italo D' Filippis Ejido, Mérida, Venezuela Eng-Esp
Happy start of the week, dear friends of Hive. Special greetings to all architecture and design lovers. Today I am happy to share with you about a place full of color and energy. It is the Polideportivo Italo D'Filippis, which reopened its doors a few months ago.
The Polideportivo Italo D'Filippis is located in the city of Ejido, capital of the Campo Elías Municipality in the State of Mérida, Venezuela. It is a sports complex open to the general public free of charge, where you can practice various sports disciplines, including swimming, volleyball, tennis, indoor soccer, basketball and others.
Every city in the world needs places like this that are within everyone's reach and thus promote sports and healthy recreation, health and above all for young people to invest their free time in productive things that keep them away from activities that only put their lives at risk.
When I saw that the sports center was restored, I felt a lot of joy, so a few days ago I took my son to spend a different Sunday afternoon and we had a lot of fun, but I also took the opportunity to take some pictures to share this space with you.

The sports center has a wide extension of land and two entrances, which facilitates access no matter where you are in the city. It is delimited by green and yellow walls with large windows that allow visibility to its facilities. Yes, we entered through Fernandez Peña Avenue, we found a green area with a small playground and a small outdoor gym, where you can do sit-ups, bars, work legs, while the children have climbers, climbers, slides and swings. Because it was Sunday, this entrance was closed, but generally you can access from here without problems.
Then, we continue walking, until we reach Bolivar Avenue and here we find the main entrance, which is accessed by concrete stairs. The coating of these walls is textured, which makes them more decorative.
Upon entering we find an outdoor multipurpose court, in perfect condition. The demarcations of the court are freshly painted and the floor has a perfect finish for running and moving around comfortably and safely.
There are also some administrative offices. These offices have a traditional design, Creole tile roofs, gable roofs and the walls have the same geometric design of the exterior in green and yellow.
There are small tile kiosks where food and beverages are sold, and the men's and women's restrooms have a similar design.
Next, we have a roofed court, named José Tomás Peña and, as we can see in the advertisement, it has been inaugurated 42 years ago. The structure of this court is composed of circular structural tubes. Its structure is reticulated, composed of huge lattices or trusses, as we usually call them. This type of structure, generates a great support in places of great distance that generally are open like the courts or enormous sheds. The structure looks in good condition and has a few small residents on the roof, as we observed some pigeons.
Note the enormous size of the columns and the foundations that support them. Here my son played for a long time.
Next door we found two more outdoor courts: one for indoor soccer, where a children's team was training, and another for tennis. Both with vibrant colors that inject energy and joy to the place.
Finally we found the pool where they practice swimming this was closed, but in these photos we can see that it is also in good condition, here make life some swimming clubs, such as the aquatic club Bravissimo Los Andes, whose information we find in this mural, we also have a mural in honor of one of the Olympic swimmers who marked a milestone in the sport Rafael Vidal. I hope someday to find the time and sign up for swimming lessons, it's never too late, right.
I was delighted to enjoy the facilities of this sports center. For sure, I will enjoy with my son quite a lot of this place, as he liked it very much. The good thing about visiting it on a Sunday is that you have much more freedom because the rest of the week, it is full of athletes and sports fans.

Until next time, a million blessings to your families.

Wow, the natural design is much more stunning than the building design itself @doriangel
Totally, those mountains are majestic.
I don't know why the environment seems sombre but calming, I like the natural setting with the mountains stretching and refreshing.
It is surrounded by mountains and it was a cloudy afternoon. The natural scenery is beautiful. Thank you very much
Sports activities are essential for the sustainable well-being of the community. Your region is blessed to host one, and I admire its organic design approach. The color theme is quite impressive because of its vibrant tones - an important architectural component to energize the place. Excellent review @doriangel. ☺️
