How To Get Form Perfect

avatar

I used this guy's videos to get my form perfect. There is a phrase: "perfect practice makes perfect" so you are right to focus on form first, that's what I always recommend
He will explain better than I can in text form :) main thing is keep tension in your whole body, look forward, elbows kept to your sides the whole time, not flared out. scapulas protracted at the top of the movement and focus on pushing and squeezing your hands together to activate your chest, gently touch the ground with your chest at the bottom (but don't rest your weight AT ALL, just touch gently like you are touching a flower you don't want to destroy lol) and scapulas will be retracted at the bottom of the movement. And in general with all movements, explode up as fast/hard as you can (but don't bounce on your joints at the top) and then the negative part of the movement (down) should take about 2x as long as the positive because you are going to keep tension in your muscles, not just fall to the ground. Slow and controlled negative 👌 . Alright that's about all the push up tips I've gathered over the years 🤣 good luck. Would recommend getting a very critical friend to compare your form to the video above, or recording yourself and doing it yourself.
