Oldest building I posted & Actifit August 18 2023

I'm not someone who cares about churches, but in general, I'm interested about history and sometimes about old buildings. This here is a very old wooden church not far from where I live. "Very old" means from medieval times; it is said that some parts of it are original and date from the early 1400s.

I find it hard to believe that something made out of wood, exposed directly to the wet elements, is still standing and looks this good after 600 years. Especially since it looks like no chemical preservatives of any sort have been used to treat the wood. But hey, you can't argue with the zealots, can you?

I wonder if they use ANY kind of treatment on the logs, I agree with you 600 years old and still intact.. nice!😀

Log cabin style, and back then, they had no power tools to make it easy! A definitive craft for sure! Old architecture is always interesting and I enjoy your posts on them.
