Adventure Club Meat & Greet -- Actifit Report Card: November 7 + 8, 2025

Another day of 20K steps slipped through my fingers as I was so gassed from Friday that I completely forgot to post on Saturday. Truth be told, Friday ended up being one of my highlights of the year with memories that will last a lifetime!
Friday started as it normally would, with a half day of school letting the students out at 1pm before a few hours of professional development. But then at 1pm, I got an IG message that I couldn't believe -- I had won a meat & greet with my favorite DJ duo, Adventure Club, at 5pm ahead of their Throwback Show that started at 8pm at Terminal 5. I had been looking forward to this throwback show for over a year, so to win a meet and greet too was a very special treat!
They called it a meat & greet since we would be sharing a 3-course meat-focused tasting menu set to three of their most famous songs: crave you, do i see color, stay gold. Crave You was an Asian-flavored A5 Wagyu tartar with a delicious soy base served with a sour cream potato chip. I went back for 2nds and 3rds because that bite was so tasty!

Do I See Color was a perfectly grilled New Zealand lamb chop with a colorful assortment of herbs and edible flowers to match the feel of the song. We finished the amazing tasty menu with a few bites of A4 filet mignon served with flakes of 24carat gold and a peppercorn chimichurri. Just writing about that filet left my mouth watering for that tender, juicy bite of steak again.

Getting to enjoy this luxury experience, all while chatting it up with some of my favorite DJs in the scene, was an experience I will cherish forever. It ended a few hours before we wanted to go in for the show, so we killed a few hours hanging at a nearby coffee shop while we prepared for some melodic dubstep later that night.

Look at that step chart for Friday. That midday commute from Brooklyn to Manhattan always gives a nice boost. It sure helped that the show started early, since the Manhattan types are always quick to complain about loud kids leaving the club. Paper Skies and Borgore both played 45 minute sets before Adventure Club took the stage at 11.30pm.

They played a 2 hour throwback set that features all of their classic tunes from the golden era of dubstep 10-15 years ago. It was everything I wanted from them, and I'm already looking forward to more opportunities to hear them play this throwback set in other locations. Retro City, Youth, Wait, Bass Cannon and Alive were all highlights of the night and they made me feel like I did 15 years ago when I was just exploring EDM.
I didn't do much of anything on Saturday. Luckily, I got most of Saturday's ~13K steps before I went to bed at 5am. I spend the majority of the day in bed watching soccer and going back to sleep. Saturday night I had another EDM show to cover for Moon Lvnding -- a tour stop by HEYZ for his HEYZ'D and Confused Tour. So that meant getting plenty of rest so I could run it back for another late night of dubstep. These are the weekend I live for, and Adventure Club gave me memories I will never forget. Until next time...
