RE: Hive FPL GW27 Preview - Double Disappointment on the Triple Captain

I've never understood the fascination of the "salary cap" version of FPL when multiple managers can all own the same best players and best bargains. I much prefer the American style of fantasy gameplay, when there is a player draft at the start of the season and player ownership is unique among a small group of players within the same league.
If there is any desire for a h2h drafted league at the start of the next prem season, I would be interested to compete. I've played in a small local draft league based in Texas with some mates for the past 15 years. We have 4 leagues of 10 teams each playing 18 games each season (home and away vs the other 9 teams). We also have promotion and relegation for two teams. We also have an FA Cup stlye tournament among all the clubs over the 4 leagues. I won promotion in my very first year and have maintained my status in the prem for the past 14 seasons.
Definitely up for it. It's something I've considered trying to organise in previous summers and if there's interest in then let's do it.
There are definitely seasons when most weeks there are only 3 or 4 differentials between teams in the h2h games (last year a prime example) This season so far has been much better mainly because a lot of the big names/prices (Salah and Palmer in particular) haven't performed so team's have budget to invest on a larger selection of mid-priced players.
Bringing in the defcon points has also opened up a whole new group of players who teams would never have considered in previous seasons.
I think the critique I've always had of the FPL game is that in general, it's kinda dumbed down for the masses, particularly in comparison to some other fantasy games I've played.
You could for example make the pricing of players far more dynamic which would continually force managers to consider making changes to their team even amongst the players they currently consider as 'select and forget'. Probably something for @blanchy to consider as a long term aim for sportsblock - Could we create our own fantasy game?
In the meantime, I'll post at the end of this season to gauge how many other users would be up for doing a draft league(s) in 26/27 and we'll go from there.
Very interesting. Could give it a go . Im not aware hiw the American one works but its always been in my mind about a Fantasy League . First of all the prize for the UK one is a trip to a game of your choice . Its so popular surely it should be more than this . What you did with Fantasy League is great @talesfrmthecrypt. Giving weekly orizes . We definately could get together and do something new .
My friend has been hosting a rag-tag site that has been developed by a joke of a dev who has been very inconsistent with his time and attention to the project.
The website is: https://effootball.com/gaming/
If you are interested in logging in and checking the functionality of the league, i wouldn't mind sharing my login with you so you can see how it compares to the h2h draft setup of the fantasy premier league site that also has the salary cap version of the game.
