Actifit report for Thursday
I went outside multiple times yesterday, shopping, returning a package and washing my new car. Here's three remarkable things I came across.
This is a public giveaway stand, where you can take or leave anything. I'm afraid this doesn't work as well for general stuff as it does for books. I did leave a book on one of those, and found a book I was looking for (the novel Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters) in another one, in someone's front garden on a street corner. To be honest, this looks like trash to me. I'd rather bring my leftover stuff to a charity shop.
The Dutch armed forces are appealing to "Generation D, people like you" in this ad, where D stands for Defensie, meaning the military, represented by the Ministry of Defense. That's not what "the D" means to Generation Z, though.
As a long-term solution to the sunflower oil shortage, I could have bought a palm or an olive tree, but I don't think it would fit on my balcony, or inside during the winter.
