2019 U23 AFCON: Kelechi Nwakali and Taiwo Awoniyi inspire Nigeria to a 3-1 win over Zambia in Group B

Nigeria has got their first win in Egypt in a 3-1 win against Zambia , putting the team back on track at the 2019 Africa U23 Cup of Nations (AFCON) game on Tuesday.

The Zambians took the lead in the 12th minute through Patson Daka who scored the first goal. But in the 16th minute, Orji Okonkwo scored the first goal for Nigeria.

It was an open game afterwards as both teams struggled to score and in the 65th minute, Kelechi Nwakali gave Nigeria the lead.

Awoniyi ensured Nigeria got all three points with a goal in added time to seal the win.

Nigeria are now second in Group B behind South Africa.

Nigeria's defense dealt with every long ball adequately. On the basis of that, I'd say they tried.

Awoniyi's goal reminds one of Yekini's goal in the 3rd place match against Cameroon at Senegal'92. It was spectacular.

I wish Nigeria is not playing South Africa. The only country I know in Africa that are professionals in social media bullying and insults is SA. May God deliver Nigeria from social media Xenophobic attacks in their next encounter

The ref. didn't let the game flow. He was even failing to give advantages. The game was not that physical to have all those fouls.
