Me encanta mirar los atardeceres, ver cómo se apaga el cielo de a poco. Puedo maravillarme una y otra vez con los diferentes colores del cielo porque no son los mismos siempre. Las formas de las nubes cambian, el resplandor puede ser naranja o amarillo o incluso azul intenso o gris. El atardecer siempre deslumbra, como un buen poema que brota de la tierra y se eleva y se eleva hasta que de a poco llega a su cadenvia y hacia su inevitable final, dando paso a la larga noche.

Las formas de las nubes son impresionantes, además, dejan volar la imaginación. De niño,.como todos los niños, pasaba un buen rato mirando al cielo, buscando formas e inventando historias sobre lo que veía.

Hace un tiempo leí la Ilíada, y en esta relectura me llamó la atención la manera en las que se solía describir el amanecer. Se usaban expresiones tan hermosas que, ayer, cuando miraba las nubes y el atardecer, me quedé impresionado sobre cómo ellos, los griegos, veían en esas formas su propia cosmogonía, su propia visión del mundo.

«Los días pasan, Eduardo, y nos vamos haciendo más viejos. No pierdas nunca la capacidad de asombro, mira las cosas como si fueran la primera vez, como cuando eras niño». Estas palabras me las dijo un buen amigo y las recordé mientras veía apagarse poco a poco la luz del sol, que se escondía detrás de las montañas. Entonces me imaginé a Helios, llegando a su casa, acariciando a sus caballos en los establos y dispuesto a descansar, para hacer su recorrido de nuevo, como siempre, hasta el final de la tarde.

I love watching sunsets, seeing how the sky slowly goes out. I can marvel at the different colors of the sky over and over again because they are not always the same. The shapes of the clouds change, the glow can be orange or yellow or even intense blue or gray. The sunset always dazzles, like a good poem that springs from the ground and rises and rises until it slowly reaches its cadenvia and towards its inevitable end, giving way to the long night.

The shapes of the clouds are impressive, in addition, they let the imagination fly. As a child, like all children, I spent a good time looking at the sky, looking for shapes and inventing stories about what I saw.

A while ago I read the Iliad, and in this rereading I was struck by the way in which sunrises were usually described. So beautiful expressions were used that, yesterday, when I looked at the clouds and the sunset, I was impressed about how they, the Greeks, saw in those forms their own cosmogony, their own vision of the world.

"The days go by, Eduardo, and we get older. Never lose the ability to be amazed, look at things as if they were the first time, as when you were a child." These words were told to me by a good friend and I remembered them while I watched the light of the sun slowly go out, hiding behind the mountains. Then I imagined Helios, arriving at his house, stroking his horses in the stables and ready to rest, to make his journey again, as always, until the end of the afternoon.
