South Africa performed unbelievable, unimaginative, out of idea!!!!!
The 37th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 was played between India and South Africa on Sunday, 05 November 2023 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. India won the toss and chose to bat first. In the first inning, India scored 326 runs for 5 wickets in 50 overs. South Africa could only manage 83 runs for 10 wickets in 27.1 overs in the second inning. India won the match by a massive 243 runs, with Virat Kohli being named the Player of the Match for his century. Ravindra Jadeja was the star bowler for India, taking 5 wickets for 33 runs in his 9 overs. India's captain, Virat Kohli, gifted himself a record-equalling 49th ODI century and India their eighth successive victory in this World Cup, on his 35th birthday. Kohli batted till the end of the innings, lifting India to an above-par 326 for 5. He ended up outscoring South Africa who could manage just 83 in 27.1 overs. Most of Kohli's centuries in recent times have had an air of inevitability about them. Sunday's innings was anything but. The conditions in Kolkata were challenging and even Kohli had struggled to get the old ball away. South Africa's left-arm spinners Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi also challenged Kohli with drift, dip and turn.
