Sporting Memories: My Journey to creating a football career that lapsed

Quite an amazing one here.... growing up was a bit hucky due to the fact that we were not really from a wealthy family but one thing made life really fun filled for me and that was the fact that i had earlier engage in sports.

Actually, i grew up in a family that sports naturally flows in our linage. I came to see quite a lot of medals won by my dad while he was in high school and at a time my eldest brother was among the incubating players who were supposed to form the junior team of my nations national team called the super eaglet before they got his career lapsed when they told him to bring a fat some of money if he would play for the team.

Well i love football and that is what got me into joining some sport academy in my community while i was in high school. It was a nice and wonderful experience then against all odds and good times often filled with mixed feelings. Some few years after, I took a stroll along to the pitch where the hope began, getting there brought me so much grief in my heart, i stopped over by the the pitch I once used to train back then in school days, it was a nice one still seeing the uproar spirit of sporting in the young boys around the pitch then i just remember the high hopes i used to have for football and how i want to become the youngest player in my Country.

My football journey began first at Adeco Sport Academy and it was always a nice time there. I remember those times i would get home from school and not even care about eating because if i do i might get late and i didn't really love going late so i would not be disciplined by my coach. Training were always fun as we would always talk sports before the arrival of our coach.

I remember one time we used to train in a school compound and in that compound there were varieties of fruits planted in the school compound and so i would even think of going home from school till after training because i had enough fruits to quench my hunger and later return home after the training.

Back then, I wouldn’t forget an awesome experience when I played football with my team mates together playing against our senior our senior team in the course of this, I had an injury that kept me out of the pitch for a long time. On the run with the ball, i was shaded a little by my opponent which happened to be of my senior team and i fell down and had a serious dislocation in my finger that got all the fingers on my left arm to bend upward instead of stay straight. It was a painful one there, I was rushed out of the football pitch and my coach was trying to help me straight my fingers back to normalcy…. no first aider available at the moment, tragic I may call it with the pains that I felt. Back then the passion for football had always made us to unite as friends and wouldn’t mind playing with the last of our strength. Being walked out of the pitch…I was a taken to a nearby clinic and some tablets were given to me which eased the pains for a while but tragic enough, i still couldn't return to continue in the match.

Luck shined on us the junior team immediately after i went off the pitch, we were awarded a free kick and woowwww it a gooooooooal... my team mate just scored and the match ended in a one nil.

Well! i said if my injury brought us the victory then two more of my mates should be injured so we will be awarded more free kicks to bring more goals.

I didn't engage in football for just playing, i had enormous passion for it but unfortunately, the passion lapsed when i had that major injury in the last march as mum didn't allow me back to the pitch anymore.... Football became a dream.

dislocating bones is painful and know what it is like. I have dislocated my shoulder before and had it bashed back in with no medical staff. Thanks for sharing your memories.
