Pero y quien es Fernando “el bocha” Batista, es un oriundo de Buenos Aires, Argentina nacido en 1970, es hermano de Sergio Batista (campeón del mundo con Argentina en 1986), exfutbolista profesional desde el año 1989 hasta el 2001 fungiendo como defensor pasando por equipos argentinos como: Argentinos Juniors, San Lorenzo, Godoy Cruz y All Boys de Rosario y campeón con San Lorenzo en el año 1995. En su carrera fuera de las canchas ha sido coordinador de juveniles de Argentinos Juniors, y director técnico de las selecciones menores del país de Armenia y de la Argentina propiamente donde consiguió una medalla de oro en juegos panamericanos y un preolímpico, además de dirigir a la selección olímpica de Argentina en Tokio 2020, para luego asumir un cargo dentro del cuerpo técnico que conformara el experimentado estratega Néstor Pekerman en Venezuela, donde ahora dirige.

Desde que Pekerman dejara su cargo y lo asumiera Batista, hemos notado un cambio positivo en el juego y la dinámica de las selecciones Vinotinto comenzando por las selecciones menores sub17 y sub20 que dirige su compatriota Ricardo Valiño con muy buenas actuaciones en el torneo Maurice Revello (antiguamente torneo esperanzas de Toulon), y recientemente clasificando al mundial sub17, la idiosincrasia que este cuerpo técnico le ha inyectado a las selecciones Vinotinto es una donde prima la intención de proponer siempre de buscar al rival que los jugadores se crean la victoria en la cancha y principalmente que estén convencidos que no son menos que ningún rival y no se especula con el resultado, concentración e intensidad mostrando que ganando no tenemos que meternos atrás a defender sino seguir proponiendo y seguir atacando arriba, esto ha generado cambios evidentes en la mentalidad de los jugadores Vinotinto y en su dinámica de juego.
