My Actifit Report Card: September 1 2020
Hi everybody and thanks for stopping by!
I got up this morning and headed to the post office to mail yesterday’s coffee roastings. I was in a hurry to return home as we were headed for the Gold Mine Trail and our neighbor Jan, who we haven’t hiked with since March, was coming with us! She had never been there so it was nice to share what we had found on our previous hikes.
Here she is next to the old safe that was housed in a building over 100 years ago.
We finally took a trail off to the side that I had been telling @silvertop that we needed to see where it went to. There are supposed to be 3 mines on this trail system, and we had never found any of them until today. It was on the side trail.
Here is a picture of it from a distance.
It was a fairly steep trail towards the bottom, and as I’ve said before, ‘grace is not my middle name’ so @silvertop went as he’s as steady as an old mountain goat, lol!
Here is a picture of him taking a picture of us as I took a picture of him taking that picture. Are you confused yet? 😁
He did come out fairly quickly as he heard a noise from within the mine and I’ll admit to seeing Bear scat today so.......
We headed on to Cocoa Crossing and stopped for a bit. I did a photo shoot of @actfit-lamb and her cousins, but she will share those pictures on her blog later this week.
We then headed up Jeff’s Lookout and the view was just as beautiful today as it was the first time I saw it some weeks ago.
We were working on part of the trail we had not been on before and it is essentially a loop. It took us to the 1891 log cabin that rests in an overgrown alpine meadow. @actifit-lamb and Windsor and Wellington all posed for me on one of the old growth tree stumps.
As you can see, it was a beautiful and sunny day. They enjoyed the sun immensely!🌞
Alas, all good things must come to an end, for it was time to head back down. I took a couple of photos with the sun coming through the forest canopy.
I can say that I am bushed! The trail is a moderate hike, but does have some incline challenges here and there. You’ve got to be aware of the placement of your feet 90% of the time because of rocks, roots and creeks that you have to traverse. It was a fabulous time!😎
That’s gonna be it for now. Keep on @actifit steppin’, and have a good day! 😎👍💪👣🐑

Not yet......but you never know! Take care @kerrislravenhill and thanks for stopping by!
So you and silvertop went together on those hills and also your neighbour as well. Wasn't it too much for your neighbour, no offence but she looks old to me? Yeah, you had a beautiful sunny day indeed.
😇
In our country we don't stop walking and exercising as we age. Well, some do. But it's certainly not expected! Staying active keeps us young.
True, but I was just thinking not that much because it's different when we grow old.

.What a lovely hike. I can't believe that dude in the comments called your friend "old"! :/
Enjoy the rest of your week @elizabethbit.
I know I don't judge people's ages very well at times, lol! Thanks for stopping by @summertooth and commenting. Have a good night!
Oh my, finding old mines sounds like a lot of fun. That would be so scary to come upon a bear in one, though!
This is the first I have heard of Windsor and Wellington. I must have missed their debut!
You did! Go check out @actifit-lamb's latest post! 😎
WOW, finding a mine. Hehehe, I can imagine @silvertop scampering after hearing the noise coming from the mine. That made me laugh! But seriously, if there is some noise coming from within the mine, it surely is caused by a wild animal that has taken shelter in there. So it is really wise to get out of there quickly. Otherwise, you may have to use your 9mm, LOL!
Thanks for sharing your day and the photos of your wonderful hike. I enjoyed viewing your article very much.
Take care, my sweet sis @elizabethbit 🥰🌺🤙 and xoxo 🤗💕💋.
Thank you sweet sis! It was really steep to get down there and he keeps asking me if I would like to go to the opening; which I would, but if there would be something in there, I'd never scamper back up that hill. I'd be dinner! I'm glad you enjoyed it. We will be going back in 3-ish weeks to search out Lost Lake. It should be fun! Take care!😘🤗💕🌸
Looks like a wonderful hike!
