My Actifit Report Card: March 30 2021

I got up today with the intention of moving forward with my computer project, only to get caught up in setting up a wireless situation for @silvertop’s Z9 mini’s. We are trying to see if we can get away from the satellite internet completely and if this continues to work, then I’ll be canceling that service. We have ZiplyFiber as well. The problem was how to get the miners on that internet without running a physical Ethernet cable. I purchased a repeater type WiFi extender device. Unfortunately the instructions were no help in setting this up. So, through a few trial and error tries, and after realizing I also need to get into my router, it was a success. So-the miners are hardwired to a router. The router is tied to the repeater with an Ethernet cable. The repeater is tied wirelessly to my router attached to the ZiplyFiber modem. It works! It does better than the satellite internet does for them. Me, I can lose the extra $126 bill per month! Yippee 🤠

Around 4 we headed out to a trailhead that required getting in the car to go to. Swift Creen is about 5-8 minutes from home. The Great Western Lumber Company has a tree farm there. Swift Creek is locally known for having naturally occurring asbestos in it. Consequently you don’t want to play in the water. However once past the main road that was used to log, there are some fantastic views and pretty scenery.

This was on the way in and up. Once we got to a juncture of offshoots, this we the view from the main bridge over the creek.

Up further and closer to the creek which at this point makes you consider that it might be more like a river.

I suspect that it could flood really well during times of spring melt and serious rain storms.

@actifit-lamb, along with Winchester and Winston, were along for the hike. The sat precariously up on some rocks above the creek to look at the scenery.

@silvertop was making sure they didn’t take a tumble! This was part of what they were looking at.

Conservation must monitor the flow and level of Swift Creek.

Alas, it was time to head back down as daylight was burning.

Now, it will be time for dinner soon and a little later, bed.
