My Actifit Report Card: October 2 2021
Hey everybody and thanks for stopping by!
I found my first fallen Big Leaf Maple leaf today! I’ve seen bigger ones, but so far, this is this year’s first one. Almost big enough to make clothing out of it.
I had limited time today for our hike, so when we met Jan, I told her we were hiking for an hour and 15 minutes and then we’d have to turn around and head home. We made it up to Towhee Ridge before we turned around.
Here are some lovely ‘shroom pics for you to enjoy.
Since it’s October, it was tree decorating time! We chose the smaller of the two we usually adorn for whatever the current season is. @actifit-lamb came along to help.
I think it needs a few other things, so off to Dollar Tree maybe tomorrow.
Almost at the end of the trail in the gravel drive just before the paved road begins, I captured a red dragon fly. I’ve not seen a red one before.
Things are getting back to normal with my back which I’m grateful for. We’re planning a hiking excursion on Monday and I need to be able to backpack the lambs. It wouldn’t be any fun without them along!

That's one big maple leaf,is it the same one Canadians use on their flag? Beautiful pictures of the mushrooms and I haven't seen a red drogonfly before either; it looks unique and amazing. Hey @practicaleric! Thank you! The Northwest is just full of a species of maple trees called Big Leaf Maples. The size of their leaves is amazing, and I've actually found bigger ones than in the picture before. I'm on the lookout for another such leaf.
It looks like the trip to the Gold Mine Trail is going to be postponed a week, but the lambs will be around.
