My Actifit Report Card: November 7 2021

Hey everybody and thanks for stopping by!

Ahh, the romance of a steam train! @silvertop and myself are train buffs, but steam trains take top position over diesel for me! Our son and daughter-in-law had the opportunity just 3 minutes from where they live, to ride the train you see in the first pic. This particular train was wood fired. There were a couple stops along the way with one being so they could take on water for the locomotive. VERY cool! 😎👍

When we lived back east, I had an opportunity to run a live steam scale locomotive and haul passengers. It was an experience I will never forget! It was a scaled down model, but big enough to have to ride to operate it and strong enough to haul a couple of loaded passenger cars. My ultimate dream would be to run one like this. I guess that’s a bucket list thing for me 😁

This morning found us staying home from church as there is another round of Covid moving through it. We thought we’d play it safe and put a little space between us and the virus. So, we tuned in via Facebook live instead.

After church, I began work on my new project, but I am realizing that it’s going to take a bit of time to get it up and running. More on that later as things progress.

This was the view today up at the off grid cabin. There’s definitely a front blowing in, as you can see it was grey and rain was imminent.

Jan came with today, but I told her I was building back up my distance hiked as last weekend didn’t do me well. I planned on hiking a little further than yesterday and had my trusty hiking poles at the ready!

The leaves around here are quite pretty. I’m waiting for the frosty leaves pictures, but I don’t see any frost in the forecast just yet.

Poor @actifit-lamb isn’t getting out much right now because of my back. ( I have to haul her in the backpack) I might see if we get to go tomorrow, weather permitting, I might try to figure out a way for her to tag along! I know she’d be a much happier lamb!

Well, that’s gonna be it for now. Thanksgiving plans are in the works and decisions need to be made. I’m hoping to have a fix on that by next weekend.
