My Actifit Report Card: December 9 2021
Hey everybody and thanks for stopping by!
A nice calm Thursday at work…… except for technology! Our credit card machine was offline for 3 weeks due to the flood. The electrical cable was bad , so I sent for a new one. The processing unit had never been near the water. So yesterday, after installing the new cable, it booted up. This unit transmits via phone line. It’s a bit archaic but still works. Anyway, I tested it with my own card doing a transaction of $1.00. Then I refunded it. We were good to go, or so I thought. Things work fine as long as you swipe the card. If you need to hand key one in, it will tell you it’s an invalid card number. 🙄 So, I went to the iPad and started a hand keyed card in the Square app. It also says it’s invalid. I’ve had one customer give me 2 different card numbers-neither work. So for the moment I can’t process that type transaction. Going back to the credit card machine-I called for tech support. They pretty much were useless except for saying it’s possible it’s at the end of its life. Geez-that’s a help!🙄🙄🙄
Tomorrow I’m going to take my own card again and try hand keying both in the machine and in the Square app. I know my card is good so we’ll see what happens. Might be the doc may have to make some decisions about this whole thing. 🧐
So upon arriving home, given some packages that need wrapping and fixed for shipping to go out tomorrow, dinner needing to be eaten, and blogging, I realized a nighttime hike was pretty much out of the question if I wanted to get it all done!
