Mossiness!.............My Actifit Report Card: January 17 2023
Mossiness! More on that in a moment, but first, welcome to today’s post!😎👍😁
It dawned a gloomy day with zero sun and left you wondering just when the heavens would open up and the floodgates would be released! It really didn’t matter, at least for the morning as I was heading out to ladies Bible study. Our leader and then our back up leader were both out sick. So we gathered anyway and shared our prayer requests with one another and then opened some scripture. It was a good study and a much needed time of fellowship. We all felt much better afterwards. 😇
After picking up the clinic mail, I went home. I fixed @silvertop some lunch and then we met Jan for a hike.
I’d been wanting to hike beyond the off grid cabin up the High Trail. It’s been quite a while since I’ve hiked it. That was the plan. Now, back to the mossiness issue. There is tons of moss in our forests here. Many, many varieties. It takes off each January and February due to the rains we get. It almost glows with life. It’s very soft to the touch and lush and there are many hidden worlds within. Please enjoy the eye candy!

Tomorrow, my work grind begins again for another week. I’m hoping for a stress free week!

Mossiness haha you named your image perfectly. These moss looks like natural carpet. It seems velvet carpet in some pictures you’ve shared. Loved them a lot.
15k plus activities is really a big number to me. For me 10k still a milestone and 15k is more than that. You are a super active lady my friend 🫶
The moss here is fantastic! At a distance, they may look alike, but up close, they are definitely not! Some are so thick and soft, it makes you want to lay down and use them for a bed or a pillow!
As summer approaches, my step count will generally end up between 12000 and 18000 to 19000 depending on the day. Work days find me not able to pull that off due to just flat out being tired! The good news is I work 3 days a week. If we have a lot going on on my off days, you will find that I make the 10000 to 14000 mark. It really depends on schedules and workload.

Those are pretty moss. Does it have any effect on the tree?
Generally not. Some of them are on dead and decaying trees so eventually, their food source will be gone. Some of them are so plush, they're almost like a pillow.
I see. They don't actually attack very much alive trees.
Well.....just about every tree here has one form or another on it.

Long ago back when I first came to the blockchain, I did a long series of 'a world within our world'. It consisted of lots of plant life out in the forest like the moss and fungi, with pictures taken from a perspective we humans could not see. It was amazing what I would find.
