It’s hump day! Now we’re on the downhill side of the week headed towards the weekend! (Is it Friday yet?🤪)

It was yet another super busy day for me at the clinic! Lots of patients, phone calls, helping out patients on the phone. Ever watch the movie Multiplicity? I could use that except maybe the copy of the copy, lol 🤣

Anyway, tomorrow is another day-specifically a ‘me, myself and I’ day. I only have one appointment for a frame rep in late afternoon, so I’m hoping for a productive day!

Hi @leo-fairy! No worries! I am a licensed optician and work in a private practice with a doc I've known for years. The clinic operates in a small town and services a large county in Washington state. There are other optical shops in other towns, but we do an amazing amount of exams.

I love helping people; watching them really see, especially for the first time is very rewarding! I also like problem solving and insurance can be a very big problem for them ( and for me, lol). My duties at the clinic are being the optician; helping patients choose frames and lenses and any enhancements they may want; placing the order for the eyewear and fitting the glasses when they arrive. I also manage the office for the doc, which entails, insurance billing, verifying insurance, processing checks-the list goes on. I also order frames for the clinic to display, train first time contact lens wearers on how to insert and remove them and the care that they need-this is just a brief description of what I do, there is so much more. I do love my job, and normally work doing this 3 days a week, but my receptionist is on vacation, so I am doing 3 weeks of 5 days a week. Hence, the reason I am looking forward to Friday (tomorrow). The weekend holds it's own schedule as my husband and I lead worship for our church and also will be training a new sound guy this weekend as we are the ones singing. It's just a bit crazy in my life right now. After March 3rd, I'll go back to my 4 day weekends and 3 days of work.
