Brrrrr……Refreshing!……..My Actifit Report Card: February 26 2024
We awoke this morning to what at first glance looked like snow. It was in fact but is something called ‘corn snow’, where it looks like miniature hail. It is soft though and doesn’t hurt if you get hit by it. While I was up in my computer loft this morning, an onslaught began!
I was so very glad I’d moved my newly purchased rose bush up against the house! It was kept safe from the corn snow and freezing temperatures.
We ran through some worship music and then afterwards, set out to Lynden for a quick errand. Since I’d been looking for a wooden organizer to complete yesterday’s task, we went to Hobby Lobby as I had a gift card. The piece I’d purchased on Amazon was a ‘torched’ organizer. They took a torch and lightly burned the unit giving it a very unique look. Torching wood for decoration is not new to me as I’ve done it on wooden beams in the house before after using a draw knife to give it a live edge type look, and then torched the area to give it character. It turned out very nice! So my thought was that I might be able to find another piece to add up what I’d already purchased since a piece that would fit what I was looking for was almost $50 on Amazon! I figured I might be able to do the torching myself and spend way less.
I ran out of time today, so the torching will be tomorrow. I will take pics of the process. I’m looking forward to setting it on fire!🔥
Once home, we met Jan and headed up Westergreen’s way. Looky what I saw!

Great work. Wow, corn snow. It's really a sign about something
When I lived in Colorado in the heart of the Rockies, during springtime, corn snow occurred often and was a definitive sign of spring. Today, we had snow, freezing rain, wind and sunshine all within about an hour! Spring is on the way for sure; it's restless, lol! Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

Wow! I wish I could experience touching real snow. When I was a kid that's one of my biggest dream.... Haha. I live in the tropical country so no snow here on my side... Lots of sun though! Haha.
