Fall Is In The Air!……..My Actifit Report Card: September 24 2025
We are closing in on October. Fall officially started last week, but depending on where you are, the degrees of the fall season may be more or less accordingly.
We are slowly beginning to see changes here. Changes in the temperatures to cooler, especially at night; changes in the angle of the sun, and changes in the leaves.
We have a lots of Big Leaf Maple trees that can either be seriously yellow or a drab mustard yellow. I’ve seen both colors around this year, so it’s still a bit early yet to determine which will win out.
Vine maples are more of an underbrush type tree and if the summer was hot and dry, usually will show a brilliant fall color. We had hot and dry and hot and humid/wet, so again, the jury is still out.
The Alder and the Elm trees tend to just turn grayish regardless and wither and fall off the tree. Very disappointing!
The key really is to plant the trees known for their fall color around your property. That way if the native species don’t give you that display, the other will.
Work today was busy. Tomorrow, I’m on my own with appointments, so it will definitely be busy! Friday is booked as well.
