San Juan de los Morros no es solo una de las principales Capitales llaneras del país o la sede de masivos eventos de Toros Coleados o la Ciudad poseedora de las mejores vistas naturales que existen gracias a los imponentes Morros, también se ha convertido en un hogar predilecto para el Mountain Bike, gracias al Circuito Bike Park Chaparral ubicado en la Ciudad Olímpica de esta capital guariqueña; Desde hace tiempo veníamos escuchando las bondades de este circuito, pero debíamos constatarlo presencialmente, además este deporte guarda un cariño muy especial en nuestro gusto, porque admiramos con mayor énfasis toda aquella disciplina donde esté involucrada la resistencia, la exigencia física.

For some time, we had been hearing about the virtues of this circuit, but we needed to see it firsthand. Moreover, this sport holds a very special place in our hearts because we greatly admire any discipline that involves endurance and physical exertion.

Entonces, fue un sábado 08 de noviembre del presente año en que nos aventuramos (vivimos en una ciudad vecina de San Juan de los Morros, llamada Villa de Cura, entre esa frontera de Guárico y Aragua) a la Cobertura de la II Válida de la Copa “Herpeca”, antemano debemos agradecer toda la atención ofrecida por el colega Pedro Izzo (quien no se cansó de correr jejeje, para tener la mejores tomas, es un duro de la comunicación…) y de todo el equipo organizador, los hermanos Pérez, y toda esa familia del Ciclismo de Montaña guariqueño, pero más adelante les explico quiénes son los hermanos Pérez.

So, it was on Saturday, November 8 of this year, that we ventured (we live in a neighboring city of San Juan de los Morros, called Villa de Cura, at the border between Guárico and Aragua) to cover the II Round of the “Herpeca” Cup. Llegamos al Circuito Chaparral al principio con un clima que mostraba algunas nubes grises pero al final fue un engaño (un dato relevante para quien escribe: teníamos cuatro años sin cubrir una pauta periodística en esta Ciudad) porque durante toda la jornada nos arropó un sol inclemente, un buen debut cubriendo ciclismo de montaña jejeje; Vimos un ambiente muy fraternal y ameno, la organización cuidó cada detalle logístico para que todo saliera a la perfección, en los alrededores del circuito se mostraba al público aupando a cada ciclista, este tipo de eventos es muy vistoso para los presentes.

This type of event is very impressive for those attending.

En este sentido fueron más de 100 ciclistas que participaron en esta válida en diferentes categorías, además de corredores infantiles que cada día se suman más a este dinámico deporte. Nos comentaban que este circuito es muy técnico, exigente, un punto a favor del rendimiento de los atletas, porque los Circuitos internacionales son de estas mismas características, bajadas, subidas, obstáculos con piedras y troncos, sectores idóneos para los saltos, y mucha pero mucha vegetación, una zona boscosa perfecta para fotos impactantes nada que envidiarle a cualquier circuito internacional; Este deporte es muy exigente, para llegar al nivel óptimo se necesita de mucha preparación física y mental, en cada heat se reunían los elementos protagonistas del MTB: Adrenalina, saltos, pasadas, caídas (allí estuvo presente un equipo de médicos y fisioterapeutas y todo salió muy bien gracias a su trabajo profesional ), todo es rápido, cualquier error puede hacer que te caigas o perder posiciones en la carrera , ¿Qué pasará por la mente de estos ciclistas cuando se preparan para saltar?.

They told us that this circuit is very technical and demanding, a point in favor of the athletes' performance, because international circuits have these same characteristics: descents, climbs, obstacles with stones and logs, sections ideal for jumps, and lots and lots of vegetation, a wooded area perfect for striking photos, nothing to envy from any international circuit. This sport is very demanding; to reach the optimal level, a lot of physical and mental preparation is needed. In each heat, the main elements of MTB were present: adrenaline, jumps, passes, falls (a team of doctors and physiotherapists was there, and everything went very well thanks to their professional work). Everything is fast, and any mistake can make you fall or lose positions in the race, What goes through the minds of these cyclists when they get ready to jump?.

Cuando anteriormente mencionamos a la impecable organización dentro de esos nombres está la amiga Adriana Arreaza, quién no paró en ningún momento para que se cumpliera todo al pie de la letra. Ahora sí, ¿Quiénes son los hermanos Pérez? Greyka (otra dama que estuvo al frente de los detalles organizativos, fue muy amable con los medios de comunicación allí presentes), William, Frank y Alexander, hermanos guariqueños apasionados por el ciclismo decidieron concretar su sueño de toda la vida, crear un circuito de MTB en su terruño, lo diseñaron con las características del más alto nivel pero para todos los corredores aficionados y élites, también con la idea de que sea un lugar perfecto para aquellos que quieran iniciar en el Mountain Bike, estos hermanos representan a los venezolanos de bien que generan ideas y las concretan para el bien común, hoy en día este circuito es de los más importantes en el País, rompiendo todos los esquemas y contribuyendo al desarrollo del MTB Nacional.
