FINALS OF OUR LOCAL LEAGUE, IKOT IBIOK UNITY CUP: Adakwok lifts trophy for first time since 1990;January 2 2022

Hi everyone, new year blessings, one of the traditions in our local community is the hosting of our local league " Ikot ibiok unity cup", it's a competition that is played among the 6 villages that make up the ikot ibiok local Government Area of Akwa ibom state Nigeria.

It is a tournament that is usually played from the last week of December breaking into new year's, the competition since inception in 1990 has been on every christmas and new year festive to celebrate the end of the year and as well welcome the new year,

its a football tournament that unites the people, creating a common ground for social interactions gathering and merry as well as unity the villagers from far and near gathers at this open field to watch the exciting game of football

Todays game was the finals as the two best teams battle for the crown of victory and to grace the occasion was the presence of top politicians in the state chairman Executive councils and chairman of chieftaincy tittle of Eket local government Area Akwa Ibom state Nigeria who presented the trophy and medals to the players and to the well deserved winners for the first time since this league started in 1990,

It was a tough game as it ended in penalty shoot out, the best goalkepper saved two penalties, which crown the winning team victory
