This is a hypothetical position taken from yesterday’s game between Nakamura and Sindarov. The young Sindarov was fully prepared and surprised the American with the move 12... 0-0, which his opponent complained about after the game, pointing out a major gap in his preparation. In any case, Sindarov was clinical and took the point. In the position shown in the diagram, Qd2 was played, which did not occur in the actual game. But let’s consider why this move is bad.
