White just responded with 1. Rb1 to contain the black rook and scare his opponent with the promotion of the passed pawn on b6. Black saw no benefit in the exchange of rooks, so he fell back with 1.... Ra8 having in mind only the vigilance over the enemy pawn and perhaps to pose some trick. Is that the most optimal and tricky way to proceed? You tell me.
