Porque no son considerados.? Parte I / Why they are not considered.? Part I | ESP-ENG |
TALENTO SILENCIOSO / SILENT TALENT

In baseball in general there are several types of players, some are the ones who stand out from the rest, there are others who are not so much, and those who are middle ground, who are good but do not have such exceptional numbers to say that they are so talented, but have that consistency in the field that make them very special, and whose performance is very valuable, but are not very striking, and become those players with a silent talent, as a famous colloquial saying of my native Venezuela says, that do not wet but soak.
PORQUE NO SON CONSIDERADOS.? PARTE I / WHY THEY ARE NOT CONSIDERED.? PART I

Taking advantage of this week that has just ended, different journalists and people authorized to cast the votes in the exaltation of the future members of the Hall of Fame in its 2023 class, have shown their preferences to the public towards the players they consider should be inside the Temple of the Immortals, There are some players that their performance when they were active players, call powerfully the attention, and have not been voted with the percentage they deserve, opening the debate and comparison with those who are already part of this historic baseball enclosure, which have very similar numbers, resulting this very interesting.
The trend to enter the Hall of Fame, historically has always been to win a World Series ring and of course place good records, other trends in terms of hitters are having connected the famous 3000 thousand hits and 400 or 500 homers, these 2 statistics as that set the tone in most cases, but there are players, which their numbers were very good, and are not inside, not being taken into account in their way to enter, leaving out great performances such as those of Venezuelan Bob Abreu.

Everyone lately was pointing to the records and career of Venezuelan player Ómar Vizquel, of course! his numbers were historic and very similar to those already inside, but the records of another Venezuelan like Bob Abreu, are also just as good, but this one, is in a different position than Omar, because his position in the field was of a right fielder of strength, territory where many great players lived, but Bob was not quite a power hitter, but rather of contact and occasional power, which led him to place good numbers and several seasons of more than 20 home runs.
A mixture of power, contact, and a good view at the plate, which does not translate to anything else if not that he possessed a patience that led him to impose performances that I and many already knew but not in detail as in recent days, some have been given the task of showing, it turns out that Abreu, has very good numbers in terms of WAR, a term used in baseball to evaluate a player, in his contribution to the team to win games, both with the bat and with the glove, which has left me truly impressed, to accumulate 60. 0 WAR for life, which represents in this category, as a star player.

A WAR between 0 and 2 is a reserve player, 2 and 4 is that of a starting player in any good team, 4 is that of an all-star player, 6 is that of Bob of a star player and 8 is that of a candidate for the most valuable player, placing the player from Maracay in a privileged place as one of the men of this game whose contribution helped a lot to the team which he represented, it is nothing invented, and it is not an electoral campaign, they are simply numbers, that had not been shown with the greatest accuracy, and that for not being a player as famous as others, until now and I wish that this way it is, these records do not pass by dejabo of the table.
It is incredible to see how this Venezuelan player has superior numbers and even similar to Ichiro Suzuki and Vladimir Guerrero, players of his position in the field that were very prominent and known by all, not leaving out the great Sammy Sosa, who despite his dark status due to the use of banned substances, is also worth a comparison in terms of numbers, because Abreu is very contemporary with him, leaving more arguments to raise his candidacy to the hall of fame, perhaps not in this class of 2023, if not the next to come.
MAS MERITOS / MORE MERITS

Mr. Antonio Jesus Torres in his twitter account @ ajtorresd who is also the director of: @ play_index also on the same platform, leaves us some very striking numbers that the truth that impress, he shows us that Bob Abreu in a span of 2003 and 2009 was part of a list of only 3 players, Albert Pujols and Alex Rodriguez, as the only three players to drive more than 100 runs in that period of time, Then it goes to the 2009 season, where Bob Abreu reaches the majestic figure of 250 homers, 2000 hits and 1000 runs batted in, joining another select group of players, (6) next to Barry Bonds, Craig Biggio, Rickey Herdenson, Willie Mays and Joe Morgan, all of these characters that marked a great legacy in this sport.
And in a deeper analysis, it also shows us, that Abreu, is the list of players, whose professional career began in the 1995 season, and since then he was the most productive right fielder in terms of WAR, giving him the chance to win his team in more opportunities, and the best of all, Bob has numbers superior to those of the great Tony Gwynn, to lovers of this sport who does not know who was Gwynn, winner of multiple batting titles in the National League with the San Diego Padres, the Venezuelan outperforms him in average games played, which was lower than the American, with 2425, 3979 times on the bases, with 921 extrabases and 400 stolen bases, all these statistics above this baseball legend and Abreu right now has and is not even close to reaching the percentage required to enter the hall of fame, only has just the percentage required to remain active for the next edition of 2024.
