Let The Best Win!

As I was saying yesterday, today was a very important day in tennis. It took place the first ATP Cup final for both men and double. I was looking forward to these matches as one of my favorite was playing in both, who is none other than Novak Djokovic. He played against No. 1, Rafael Nadal.

I knew it's going to be a spectaculars match but was not expecting to see what we all witnessed. Also wasn't a secret who I was rooting for but that doesn't mean i wanted the other player to play badly. The better the players, the higher the quality of the game and victory is well deserved.

Nadal lost the first set and he deserved to lose. I don't know what's happened with him but the stupid mistakes he made today as no. 1 ATP are not admissible at this level. These two players are the best at the moment as Djokivic is no. 2 ATP, so these two should show us the best tennis match. Instead today we saw Nadal making one stupid mistake after the other and Djokivic playing like the best in the world.

Nadal made several double faults which was very odd, unexpected to be honest, not from him. He lost the first set with 6-2. The second set was a bit better. Nadal started to play better but was too late or he wasn't good enough as he lost the second set as well to 7-6 (7-4). Novak Djokovic deserved to win as he was way better than his opponent today.

Next we got to see the double, played between Serbia and Spain. After losing against Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal wasn't let to play. I don't know who's decision was it but was a very good one, maybe the best of the day.

Novak Djokovic and Viktor Troicki representing Serbia, met Feliciano Lopez and Pablo Carreno Busta representing Spain. For me this match was different from the first one as I knew who's going to win. With Djokovic in the game this was no surprise. Truth to be told the Spanish guys did everything they could but it wasn't enough as they lost to 6-3, 6-4.

Congratulations team Serbia, they won both men and team finals!

Tomorrow starts the 2020 WTA Tour with Simona Halep favorite no. 2. I haven't looked at the schedule yet and most likely won't be able to watch the matches but at the weekend there will be the finals (most likely) and I'm hoping to catch it.
