Slovan & track

(Edited)

This one is for my running friend @toofasteddie.

Thursday afternoon, it's already dark. My son had an inline skater training session at the Urban Roof center in Moste, Ljubljana.

I had a good hour of time to invest wisely. I went for a run. No plan, just run to the river and make several kilometers along its bank.

While heading into the general direction of river Ljubljanica I realized that I can go to the Slovan track & field stadium at Kodeljevo. So I did.

It was so nice to see that kids are training again.

You can't see it well yet these are girls at their soccer practice.

Members of the local triathlon club were doing fast rounds. I know their coach Grega. He said to me that they need to stretch their legs and lungs a bit.

While on the track I wanted to emulate the triathletes. I did a day pace 1 K round in 4:03.

After a lap of a jog, I did one quick lap again. Interestingly, at 4:06 it was slower than a 1 K run. It shows my legs muscles need some stretch at a higher pace.

The slower 1 K sections shown above were due to talking to friends or waiting for the red light to change.

It really was a nice evening run with various sections. Slow, steady, quick, ...

Next time I'll try to repeat it with more structure ie. with more time on the track.

Ps: including this one I am six @exhaust reports behind. The days were simply too short for everything.

*When someone tells you that what you want to do is impossible, change the word in your head to hard. What you want to do is hard. Hard is doable – it just requires dedicated work and effort and you can make it happen.
